Lower back pain is one of the most common things we see at Physio Physique. And most of the time, it comes down to the same few things. 🙌

Here are 3 exercises we actually prescribe in clinic 👇

1️⃣ Child's Pose → Cobra Flow: Slowly between the two. 8 reps. You're mobilising and decompressing the spine at the same time, two for one.

2️⃣ Wall Hip Hinge: Stand a foot from the wall and push your hips back to tap it. Chest stays tall. This teaches your hips to move so your back doesn't have to take the load.

3️⃣ Glute Bridge: Yeah we know — everyone says glute bridges. But here's the thing. Weak glutes force your lower back to compensate for literally everything. Fix the glutes, and you take a huge amount of stress off the back. 3 x 10.

Try these daily for a week and see how your back responds. 💪

Still in pain? That's your sign to get it properly assessed.

Book in with us at Physio Physique and we'll work out exactly what's going on and get you moving without pain.

Do you constantly feel bloated, even when you're trying to eat healthy?

Bloating is one of the most common digestive complaints we see, but it's often a symptom of something deeper rather than the problem itself.

Common causes of bloating may include:
❌ Food intolerances
❌ IBS
❌ SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth)
❌ Gut microbiome imbalances
❌ Stress and the gut-brain connection
❌ Hormonal changes
❌ Constipation

Many people spend years guessing what's causing their symptoms. The key is identifying the underlying cause rather than simply masking the discomfort.

In our latest blog, we explore:
🔸 Why bloating happens
🔸 The most common hidden triggers
🔸 When bloating may signal a deeper issue
🔸 How naturopathy can help support digestive health and gut function

If you're tired of feeling uncomfortable after meals or waking up bloated, it may be time to investigate what's really going on.

🔥 Reflux isn’t always caused by “too much stomach acid”.

For many people, GORD/reflux can be linked to:
• poor valve function (LOS dysfunction)
• diet and lifestyle habits
• stress
• gut health
• caffeine and alcohol
• eating patterns and late meals

That burning feeling in your chest may be your body telling you something deeper is going on.

In our latest blog, we break down:
✅ what reflux actually is
✅ common hidden causes
✅ how diet and gut health may contribute
✅ natural ways to help manage symptoms
✅ when to seek professional help

If you regularly experience:
• heartburn
• chest burning
• bloating
• regurgitation
• throat irritation
• chronic reflux symptoms

…it may be worth looking beyond just symptom suppression.

Who should you see first after an injury?

GP? Physio?

Doctors have general knowledge about many different medical conditions but don't necessarily have the depth of knowledge or "expertise" to actually help you recover from injuries.

Rest and pain relief / anti-inflammatories may be appropriate for some people especially in the acute stage of injuries, but...

This passive type of management may help you reduce pain but does not actually help you recover in the long term or prevent problems in the future.

Research has shown that the best way to recover from an injury is to start rehab as soon as possible.

Physiotherapists are experts at assessing the cause of your injury, what contributing factors put you at risk in the first place and skilled in hands-on therapy so that you can:
1. Reduce pain and symptoms fast
2. Regain mobility and movement
3. Strengthen your body so that you don't hurt yourself again

So the next time your GP tells you to just take pills and rest, it's recommended that you don't wait and speak to a Physiotherapist.

*Your body is great at healing only if you give it the right tools*

If in doubt, reach out to us and we would be happy to guide you in the right direction

Sound familiar?

In this video we take you through a full real-life case study — assessment, treatment, and rehab — for chronic ankle pain after an old sprain that was never dealt with properly.

If your ankle still doesn't feel "right" after an old roll — this one's for you.

That “niggle” you keep training through?
Yeah… it might not just be tight muscles 👀

If your pain is:
• Getting worse each session
• Localised to one spot
• Worse during or after activity

You could be dealing with a stress fracture!

Pushing through it is the fastest way to turn a small problem into a long-term injury.

The good news?
👉 With the right physio guidance, most stress fractures heal well
👉 You can stay active while recovering
👉 And come back stronger (not just pain-free)

🚨 The biggest mistake we see: ignoring early signs and “waiting it out”
