Brainstorm Productions helps more than 260,000 Australian students each year through their range of award-winning educational theatre productions, addressing issues such as bullying, cyber safety and student wellbeing. A big part of what we do is helping young people recognise that sometimes a simple check in can make a real difference, and that support doesn’t always have to come from having all the answers. Often, just listening and being there for someone matters most.

Our shows help open up conversations around connection, empathy and the importance of knowing when and how to reach out for support.

The eSafety Office is currently conducting research into how social media age restrictions are working and what they might mean for young people.

While results haven’t been released yet, it’s an important space to watch especially as platforms, policies and how students engage online continue to evolve.

For schools and educators, staying informed helps support more meaningful conversations with students about how they use social media and the role it plays in their lives.

Shoutout to , a service we regularly share with students as a trusted place to go for support 💚

Headspace provides mental health and wellbeing support for young people aged 12–25, with centres across Australia as well as online and phone support options.

At the end of every high school performance, we make sure students know where they can turn if they need extra support, and headspace is one of the key services we highlight alongside other support networks and resources.

New research is putting a spotlight on something we see all the time, the role music can play in student wellbeing! 🎶

From building confidence to creating a sense of belonging, music education is being recognised as a powerful way to support young people both socially and emotionally.

It’s not just about learning an instrument, it’s about connection, expression and giving students another way to feel seen and heard. Definitely an interesting space for schools and educators to keep an eye on!

It’s an opportunity to recognise the importance of respectful relationships and working together towards reconciliation in our communities, schools and everyday lives.

This year’s theme, All In, is a reminder that reconciliation is something we all have a role in. It calls on all Australians to show up with openness, respect and a willingness to learn, while continuing to listen to and honour the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
