A big part of what we do is helping patients actually understand their scans - not just reading a report and sending them on their way.

When appropriate, imaging can give clarity, guide rehab, rule things out and help patients feel more confident in the recovery process 📈

Not every injury needs a scan. But knowing when to use one and being able to explain what it actually means for the patient, can make a big difference in rehab outcomes.

Let’s talk Achilles tendon pain 👉Achilles tendon pain doesn’t usually start suddenly, it builds over time.

Here’s what to look out for:

Common signs:
• Morning stiffness
• Pain at the start of walking, running or training that eases as you warm up
• Tenderness when squeezing the tendon
• Pain after activity or the next day

What helps:
✔ Progressive calf strengthening
✔ Managing running + jumping loads
✔ Consistent rehab (not random stretching)
✔ Early treatment before it becomes stubborn

What doesn’t help:
✘ Stretching aggressively into pain
✘ Ignoring symptoms and “running through it”
✘ Complete rest for weeks without rehab
✘ Waiting until it’s been sore for months

The earlier you treat Achilles pain, the faster it settles.

If your Achilles has been sore for a few weeks (or keeps coming back), it’s time to fix the cause - not just manage the symptoms.
