Does your child's behaviour sometimes leave you wondering, "Why are they reacting like this?"

You're not alone.

Many behaviours that seem confusing or challenging begin to make sense once we understand what's happening in the brain.

Join the team at Nutricula Psychology for a Parenting Support Workshop designed to help you better understand your child's behaviour and walk away with practical strategies you can use at home.

During the workshop we'll explore:

🧠 How your child's brain influences everyday behaviour

💛 Why children sometimes melt down, withdraw, or struggle to focus

🛠 Practical, brain-based strategies to support emotional regulation and build stronger family connections

✨ Plus connect with other parents over morning tea.

Whether you're looking for practical ideas, reassurance, or simply a better understanding of your child's needs, we'd love to welcome you.

What do you actually get from a psychological assessment?

Many families come to us because they know something isn't quite adding up.

Their child might be finding school harder than expected, struggling to stay focused, becoming overwhelmed more easily than other children, or simply not reaching their potential despite trying their best.

Often, parents aren't looking for a label.

They're looking for answers.

A psychological assessment is designed to provide a deeper understanding of how a person thinks, learns, pays attention, manages emotions, and functions in everyday life.

It's much more than a diagnosis.

A comprehensive assessment can provide:

✔ A detailed understanding of strengths and challenges

✔ A comprehensive written report explaining the findings in clear, everyday language

✔ Individualised recommendations tailored to your child or your own needs

✔ Practical strategies that can be used at home, school, or in the workplace

✔ A feedback session to walk through the results, answer your questions, and discuss the next steps

The goal is to help you move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

Whether that's accessing the right supports at school, understanding why certain challenges occur, or developing strategies that make everyday life a little easier, an assessment provides a roadmap for the future.

Because understanding creates opportunities for growth, support, and success.

If you've been wondering whether a psychological assessment might be the right next step, our team is happy to answer your questions and guide you through the process.

If you've ever wondered whether your child should see a psychologist, paediatrician, or psychiatrist, you're not alone.

One of the most common questions we hear from parents is:

"Where do I even start?"

The assessment pathway can feel confusing, especially when you're trying to understand challenges with attention, learning, behaviour, or development.

The reality is that psychologists, paediatricians, and psychiatrists all play important roles. Depending on your child's needs, they may work together to provide assessment, diagnosis, support, and treatment recommendations.

A psychological assessment can help build a detailed picture of how your child thinks, learns, behaves, and functions day to day. It can identify strengths, clarify challenges, and provide practical recommendations to support them at home, school, and beyond.

Because the goal isn't simply a diagnosis.

The goal is understanding.

And when we understand what's happening beneath the behaviour, we can make informed decisions about the support a child needs to thrive.

If you're unsure where to start, our team is happy to help guide you through the process.

When a child is struggling with focus, organisation or emotional regulation, many parents hear the same message:

“They just need to try harder.”

But ADHD doesn’t always look the way people expect.

Some children aren’t hyperactive at all.
Instead they may:

• start tasks but struggle to finish them
• lose focus easily
• feel overwhelmed after school
• work twice as hard just to keep up
• begin to believe they aren’t as capable as their peers

In this short video, Catherine explains how ADHD can present beyond the common stereotypes and why understanding how a child’s brain works can make such a difference.

Clarity helps parents, teachers and children move forward with the right support.

If you’ve been wondering whether attention or learning differences may be part of your child’s experience, our team is here to help.

Send us a message or comment CLARITY if you’d like more information about the assessment process.

We often meet children who are bright, curious, and capable, yet frequently in trouble for not finishing work, forgetting instructions, or drifting off in class.

Parents are told:

- “They need to try harder.”
- “They’re easily distracted.”
- “They just need more structure.”

But sometimes, it is not about effort.
It is about attention regulation.

ADHD does not always look like hyperactivity.

It can look like:

- Starting tasks but struggling to complete them
- Losing belongings repeatedly
- Emotional overwhelm after school
- Working significantly harder for average results
- Feeling constantly behind despite trying

A comprehensive ADHD assessment provides clarity about how attention, executive functioning, and emotional regulation are operating, and what supports will be most effective.

At Nutricula Psychology, our assessments include clear, school-ready recommendations and practical strategies that support both learning and wellbeing at home.

If you have been quietly wondering whether ADHD may be part of your child’s story, click “Send Message” and type CLARITY.

Flexible payment plans are available.
