🚨 Attention fellas of Mackay 🚨

Prostate cancer guidelines have just changed— and it is time for blokes to have that overdue checkup with their GP.

New national guidelines (2026) say GPs should be bringing up PSA testing with:
✅ All men from age 50 every 2 years
✅ Higher-risk blokes (family history, etc.) from age 45.
If not higher risk - a single PSA test between 45-50

Prostate cancer is now the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Aussie men — but caught early, it’s also one of the most treatable. Even better - it is a simple blood test - no more fingers up bums 🙂 which is a good thing for all of us.

So consider this your friendly nudge 👊 If you haven’t seen your GP for a check up this year (or ever, no judgement), now’s the time.

It is with mixed emotions that we announce a Goodbye to Dr Lee Huang, who's last day at Health On Central will be tomorrow, 17th July.

Over the past 12 months, Dr Lee has provided dedicated, compassionate care to all of our patients.

Dr Lee is moving on to Paul Hopkins Medical to continue his specialist GP training. While we are sad to see him go, we wish him the absolute best in this next chapter of his medical journey! ✈️🩺

I am a General Practice registrar with extensive hospital experience gained across Australia, the United Kingdom and India.
My background is primarily in Internal Medicine, Geriatric medicine. I enjoy caring for patients with complex medical conditions and helping them maintain their health and independence.
My key areas of interest are Geriatric medicine, cardiovascular health, chronic disease management and lifestyle medicine. Alongside my GP training, I am completing training as a specialist in Lifestyle Medicine.

Outside medicine , I enjoy watching sunsets, travelling, cooking and trying new cuisines.
