♻️ Your empty containers can now help create change with RFQ! 💚

We are excited to share that Richmond Fellowship Queensland is now a registered cause with Containers for Change Queensland.

That means your eligible bottles and cans can do more than stay out of landfill. Their 10c refunds can be donated to RFQ and help support the work we do across our communities.

It is a small action with a ripple effect: supporting recycling and environmental sustainability while helping RFQ continue creating opportunities for connection, inclusion and wellbeing.

Funds raised through initiatives like this can also help us continue community initiatives such as the Recovered Futures Art Exhibition, which uses the power of art to spark conversations about mental health, recovery and wellbeing and amplify the voices of artists with lived experience.

📣 Volunteer with us at the 2026 Recovered Futures Art Exhibition! 🎨

Want to be part of one of Brisbane’s most meaningful annual art events?

The Recovered Futures Art Exhibition returns to King George Square from 9–14 October 2026, celebrating its 35th year of showcasing artwork by artists with lived
experience of mental health challenges.

We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to help us bring this year’s exhibition to life! 💚

Volunteers will support a range of activities, including:
👋 Welcoming visitors
📖 Catalogue sales
💳 Assisting with payments
🎨 Badge making and other exhibition activities

No art experience is needed. We are looking for people who enjoy connecting with others, working as part of a team and helping create a welcoming experience for
our visitors.

Volunteers must be 18+ and available for at least one full day during the exhibition. You will receive lunch and a volunteer pack including a Recovered Futures shirt,
water bottle, snack and hat if required.

📍 King George Square, Brisbane
📅 Friday 9 – Wednesday 14 October 2026

By volunteering, you will not just be helping to run an exhibition. You will be supporting an event that uses art and storytelling to spark conversations, challenge stigma and celebrate recovery.

We are proud to strengthen RFQ’s connections across Australia’s mental health sector through our membership of the Australian Psychosocial Alliance (APA) and Mental Health Australia (MHA). 💚

These national networks bring together organisations committed to improving mental health and psychosocial supports across Australia.

For RFQ, membership means opportunities to collaborate, share knowledge, learn from others and contribute our experience to important conversations about the future of mental health support.

Most importantly, it provides another avenue to amplify the experiences and perspectives of the people, families and communities at the heart of our work.

By working together across the sector, we can help build a stronger, more connected and responsive mental health system.

🌈 Community Connections 🤝

RFQ recently attended the Townsville Housing Service Integration Response Group (THIRG) meeting in person at the Women’s Centre. The group meets fortnightly via Teams but ensures they get together in-person every quarter.

The group allows service providers, community groups, and government agencies to come together to support our mutual clients in the community experiencing homelessness. The group works together collaboratively to address the complex issues leading to their vulnerability. The commitment shown by all stakeholders leads to positive housing outcomes that change the lives of clients 🏠

When we work together, great things are possible 💪🏾

🏠 Connecting, Learning and Collaborating for Better Housing Outcomes 🏠

RFQ team members recently attended the Queensland Homelessness and Housing Conference in Cairns, bringing together housing and homelessness professionals from across Australia to explore solutions to the current housing crisis.

The conference provided valuable opportunities to learn from sector leaders, share knowledge, and strengthen partnerships focused on delivering person-centred housing outcomes for Queenslanders.

We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with peers, exchange ideas, and contribute to conversations that support positive change across the housing and homelessness sector.

Growth can happen quietly, one step at a time, until one day you look back and realise just how far you have come. 🌱

At RFQ, we have been privileged to support Jacqueline on her recovery journey through ongoing case management, connection with mental health supports, and building confidence to engage more independently with her community.

Throughout her journey, Jacqueline has shown incredible resilience and determination. With continued support from her Case Manager and Psychiatrist, Jacqueline has successfully progressed to extending her depot injections to every three months, reflecting the positive stability she has worked hard to achieve.

Jacqueline has also become increasingly resourceful and independent in accessing services and supports, including health care, hearing support, employment services, and community resources. One of the biggest achievements has been her growing confidence in accessing the community with significantly reduced anxiety compared to the past.

Her journey highlights the power of persistence, connection, and personalised support in recovery. Jacqueline is now looking ahead to her next goal of regaining her driver’s licence and continuing to build independence and wellbeing for the future. 💚

A heartfelt thank you to Rotary Toowoomba North, Toowoomba Men’s Shed, Wattly, and BMS for their generous support in bringing this meaningful project to life.

We are proud to stand alongside our community in supporting healing, connection, and su***de prevention. 💙🌳
