🦴 World Osteoporosis Day | 20 October 🦴

Strong bones, strong women! 💪🌸

This World Osteoporosis Day, we're raising awareness about bone health and its important role in women's health at every stage of life.

Osteoporosis is a condition that causes bones to become weaker and more fragile, increasing the risk of fractures. It often develops silently, without symptoms, until a fracture occurs.

Why is bone health particularly important for women?

Women are at greater risk of osteoporosis, particularly after menopause. As oestrogen levels decline, bone loss can accelerate, making the perimenopause and menopause years an important time to focus on protecting your bones.

✨ What can you do to support your bone health?

🦴 Include calcium-rich foods in your diet.

☀️ Maintain adequate vitamin D levels.

💪 Incorporate weight-bearing and resistance exercises into your routine.

🚭 Avoid smoking and keep alcohol intake within recommended guidelines.

🩺 Talk to your GP about your individual risk factors and whether a bone density scan is appropriate for you.

Your future bone health matters. Let's start the conversation today!

💜 World Menopause Day | 18 October 2026 💜

Let’s talk about menopause! 🌸

Menopause is a natural stage of life, but that doesn’t mean you have to struggle through it without support.

From hot flushes, night sweats and sleep disturbances to changes in mood, memory, libido and energy levels, the menopause transition can look and feel different for every woman. Symptoms can affect everyday life, relationships, work and overall wellbeing.

✨ The good news? You don’t have to navigate it alone.

At Sirona Women’s Health, we believe every woman deserves to feel informed, supported and empowered to make decisions about her health. Whether you’re experiencing perimenopause, navigating menopause or simply wanting to understand what lies ahead, having a conversation with your GP is a great place to start.

There are treatment options and strategies that can help, including lifestyle approaches and, where appropriate, menopausal hormone therapy (MHT).

💗 Your symptoms are real. Your questions matter. And you deserve care that takes the time to listen.

Let’s break the stigma, raise awareness and make conversations about menopause a normal part of women’s healthcare.

Because menopause is a stage of life — not something you simply have to put up with.

💜 National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day | 15 October 💜

Today, we pause to remember the babies gone too soon and acknowledge the families who carry their love and loss every day.

Pregnancy and infant loss can be an incredibly personal and isolating experience. Behind every loss is a story, a family, and a love that will never be forgotten. Whether your loss was recent or many years ago, your grief matters, your baby matters, and you are not alone. 💜

Today, we hold space for all those who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, newborn loss or the loss of a baby at any stage of pregnancy. We also recognise the partners, families and loved ones who grieve alongside them.

At Sirona Women’s Health, we recognise that every pregnancy journey is different, and we send our love and compassion to everyone who is remembering a precious little life today.

🕯️ Lighting a candle, saying a name, or simply taking a moment to remember — every little life deserves to be remembered.

🎀 Breast Cancer Awareness Month | October 🎀

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month — a time to raise awareness, encourage early detection and show support for everyone affected by breast cancer. 💗

Breast cancer can affect women and men of all ages, and knowing what is normal for your body is an important part of looking after your health.

A few important reminders:

💕 Know your breasts: Become familiar with how your breasts normally look and feel.

💕 Notice changes: Look out for new lumps, changes in breast shape or size, skin dimpling, ni**le changes or unusual discharge.

💕 Don't ignore changes: If you notice something unusual, make an appointment with your GP. Most breast changes aren't cancer, but it's important to get them checked.

💕 Stay up to date with screening: BreastScreen Australia offers free mammograms every two years for women aged 40 and over, with the program particularly targeting women aged 50–74.

At Sirona Women’s Health, we believe looking after your health includes taking the time to understand your body, ask questions and seek support when something doesn't feel right.

This month, we also hold space for those undergoing treatment, those living with metastatic breast cancer, those who have lost loved ones, and the families and friends who walk alongside them. 💗

Let's continue to spread awareness, encourage conversations and support one another — this October and beyond.

🎀 Early detection matters. Your health matters. You matter. 🎀
