The East Grampians Health Service Building for the Future Foundation was established in 2009 to provide funding for special purpose projects and equipment for East Grampians Health Service.

Since its inception the Foundation has distributed $1,280,066 ($536,650 for large capital items and the remainder for education scholarships for staff, which enable them to upskill and build their skills to improve and extend the services we offer).

The Foundation is looking to attract family bequests donated to the Building for the Future Foundation, a great way to remember a loved one and have them acknowledged annually and make an ongoing contribution to the community.

Willaura Health Care is set to mark another significant milestone in its history, with Stage One of the redevelopment of the acute area commencing soon.

Members of the Willaura community were invited to visit the hospital and hear about the project from East Grampians Health Service executive staff, showing great interest in the project and providing valuable feedback.

The $3.425 million project will deliver a contemporary acute care environment, including five acute beds, each incorporating a modern hospital room and private ensuite facilities. The redevelopment will also provide a dedicated quiet area for inpatients, creating a more comfortable and welcoming environment for patients and their families.

At this stage, construction is anticipated to commence in late October or early November 2026, subject to the completion of the tender evaluation, appointment of the successful builder and finalisation of the construction program.

Our EGHS kitchen and Home Support teams, together with our wonderful volunteers, provide not only meals but also friendship, connection and a friendly face at the door. 😊
