Our clinic is based in Ashmore, Gold Coast, and offer mobile services to areas in the Scenic Rim, Logan, and Brisbane.

The child-led approach, even in the initial few sessions when working with children helps build trust, increases engagement, and allows the therapists to weave therapeutic goals into play whilst following the child’s interests and motivations. It builds a safe, authentic, and positive relationship between the therapist and the child. It’s more of the therapist acting as the facilitator rather than the director, so the child can still explore and can be offered the tools and strategies that work for them 💜

We jumped on the ChatGPT trend for one of the owners of Adapt and Learn - Amy ❤️

While most people see the smiling therapists, engaging sessions and all the fun resources, Amy is often working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly.

She’s the problem solver, cheerleader, planner, and the one answering emails long after everyone else has finished for the day. Her days are fuelled by determination, a genuine desire to help others, and the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. While she rarely seeks the spotlight, her dedication is woven into every part of Adapt and Learn.

I had the first school tell us ‘sorry, we cannot provide your son with the supports he needs - we can refund you your application fee’ this week and it really hit me hard (had a teary in the car).. I know he is significantly delayed, but he’s keen to learn, has the best personality and attitude, will happily go anywhere we enrol him to.. and early last year he was completely non-verbal, so a HUGE change with early intervention and a great daycare!

But definitely always hard to hear the words - so we will keep advocating and get him into a school that wants him and knows that yes, he is not where his peers are, but he will be an amazing asset to the class with his cheeky, bubbly, outgoing personality ❤️

But the impact that early intervention speech and OT supports have had on our guy and how they have helped him - we cannot be any more thankful .. they are the true superstars!

PS - ‘Oppa’ at the end is him saying his own name (Oscar) 😂
