Some people look at where they are right now and think,
“This is it.”

But it’s not.

A hard season is not the whole story.

Where you started matters, but it does not get the final say.

The next step does.
Then the next one.
Then the one after that.

That is how people rebuild.

Not all at once.
Not perfectly.
Not with everyone clapping for them.

Just one decision at a time.

So if you are in the middle of something hard right now, keep going.

You are not finished yet.

Before kids: goal was doing the bare minimum so I could get back to video games and comic books. Not motivated. Not driven. Just coasting.

Then I had kids — and something switched.

Overnight I went from responsible for nothing... to responsible for everyone. My wife. My kids. My business.

Having kids was the best motivator I ever got. It forced me to get my sh*t together — hustle at work, train, build something real.

Most people think exercise has to be hard to be useful.

Sweat more.
Push harder.
Do more.

But that is not always what your body needs.

Sometimes your body just needs to move again.

Slowly.
Calmly.
Consistently.

That is why these old-school movements still matter.

They are not here to impress anyone.

They are here to keep your joints moving, your breathing steady, and your body from feeling older than it needs to.

Try this for 3 minutes.

No gym.
No equipment.
No pressure.

Just follow along and see how your body feels after.

There are some things Chinese families always seem to have at home.

This little green box is one of them.

Mouth ulcer?
Bit your cheek?
Sore spot that makes eating annoying?

This was one of those old-school remedies people would reach for.

Simple.

Easy to find.

And worth knowing about.

You can usually find Watermelon Frost at a local Chinese grocer.

Save this for the next time your mouth feels angry.

My favorite part — he says in Chinese, “This guy complains too much.”

If your practitioner ever does this, run out the door as fast as you can.

Comment “7” to get my top most-used acupressure points.

When you’re stressed, your body does not only feel it in your head.

You can feel it in your chest.
Your ribs.
Your stomach.
Your digestion.
Even your mood.

In Chinese medicine, the liver is closely connected to how smoothly things move through the body.

So when stress builds up, this area can start to feel tight, heavy, or stuck.

That is why these movements focus around the ribs and sides of the body.

Not to smash yourself.
Not to sweat like crazy.
Just to help things move again.

Try this for 2 minutes and notice what changes.

Do you feel lighter?
Looser?
A little calmer?

When I decided to study Chinese medicine full time in China, I heard everything.
You’re going to be a street doctor.
You’re going to be homeless.
Why study Chinese medicine — Chinese people don’t even study Chinese medicine.
You don’t read or write Chinese. This is impossible.
I’ve been told no more times than I can count.
I’ve been told I can’t do this more times than I can count.
For some reason, it always motivated me to prove them wrong.
It’s never failure until you quit.
Follow the journey.

If your shoulder has been getting stiff for no clear reason, don’t just brush it off as “getting older.”

Especially if you’re in your 40s or 50s.

For some women, shoulder stiffness can show up around the same time the body starts going through hormonal changes.

The joint can feel tight.
Dry.
Stuck.
Harder to lift.
Harder to reach behind your back.
Harder to sleep on.

In Chinese medicine, we don’t only look at the shoulder.

We look at what else is happening in the body.

The goal is to support circulation, calm the tension, and help the shoulder start moving better again.

If your shoulder has been slowly getting worse, this is worth paying attention to.
