About Your Feelgood Coach – Denise Mokadsi

The Denise Mokadsi Story

My name is Denise Mokadsi and I started in the Health Industry over 20 years ago. Right now I am at a place in my life where I feel truly blessed in a world of unlimited potential, but I can also tell you that it was not always like this. I have always been relatively fit and healthy but when I started to feel that things were n

ot 100% right I went on the messy search to find a solution. I started to evaluate certain practices, beliefs and systems. As a former Nurse for over 15 years and Scientist I naturally questioned these, looked for evidence of best practice. I soon discovered that going from one “specialist” to another never really gave a person the complete picture. I just wanted someone who could see me as a complete individual. Then in 2016 when my youngest son was diagnosed with a painful and restrictive condition, known as Juvenille Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA), I set out on a route of discovery that would change how I viewed health. As a mother we wish only the best for our children and I was swimming in guilt. How could I have prevented that from happening? What could I have done differently to have allowed him to avoid that situation altogether? This is some of what I discovered…

* There are many factors that influence our lives and our health
* Most health programs focus on solutions AFTER the occurrence of symptoms instead of prevention
* The ‘standard’ generic approach to health and fitness MUST change so people feel empowered to achieve their health and fitness goals in personalised ways
* We are responsible for our health and wellbeing and we also influence the lives of those around us
* It is possible to free ourselves from unnecessary pain and suffering and
* It’s never too late to live the life of vibrancy and joy that we were meant to live

I made the decision to create a unique and comprehensive approach to wellness by focusing on what is really important. Then something amazing happened! I began coaching my clients with a transformation approach in a healing mindset and they were able to release what was holding them back. They were able to rediscover who they really were and a strong and powerful person began to emerge. They were becoming filled with joy, as was I, watching them evolve. My FeelGood Mission:

I am on a mission to help as many individuals feel good by optimising their energy levels, health and wellbeing to live powerfully, be true to who they really are and what they value so they can extend their beauty for the benefit of others. I have been driven by the question:

“How can we do this in a way that best combine the science of health with the skill of coaching? How can we develop a trusting and collaborative relationship that allows for sustainable and realistic changes, one step at a time?”

This has led me to the creation of a holistic program which I call the FeelGood 12 Week Challenge. This program has allowed me to channel my passion into an effective results-driven approach to the health challenges affecting all of us, especially as we age. Now nothing gets me up in the morning like the thought of helping my clients feel good. It’s all about YOU and the life YOU want for yourself. It’s about seeing the whole person as the combined sum of the individual parts. My vision is for a better future where we can each have a profound positive impact on our own lives as well as those around us, all in a welcoming, inclusive and safe environment. Why should you listen to me?

Information is not the same as transformation.

You can receive a detailed DNA report and still have no idea what to do next.

The real value comes from translating information into relevant action.

When I'm going through a report with someone, rather than trying to address every result, we consider this simple process:

1. Notice. Which findings appear most relevant to current symptoms, risks or goals?

2. Confirm. Is there supporting information from the health history, lifestyle, symptoms or other testing?

3. Prioritise. Which one or two areas are most important to address first?

4. Simplify. What is one practical behaviour you could begin with?

That might involve:
Improving protein intake.
Supporting blood sugar stability.
Adjusting caffeine timing.
Building strength.
Prioritising sleep.
Exploring a relevant nutrient level with your healthcare professional.

The goal is not to respond to every gene.
It is to identify the information that matters most and use it wisely.

I'm curious, what would make genetic testing feel genuinely useful to you?

Have you ever looked beyond the words, "Everything looks normal"?

It's something I ask women all the time.
"When was the last time you had a comprehensive review of your blood tests?"
Not just a quick glance to make sure nothing serious was wrong.
But a conversation that helped you understand what your results might be telling you about your energy, metabolism, hormones and overall health.

For many women, the answer is...
"I can't remember."
Or...
"My doctor said everything was normal."

Here's what I want you to know.

Blood tests aren't about finding something that's "wrong" with you.

They're one piece of the puzzle that can help explain why you might be feeling the way you do.

As women move through perimenopause and menopause, our biology changes.

Hormones shift.
Muscle naturally declines if we don't actively maintain it.
Metabolic health can change.
Iron stores, thyroid function, vitamin levels, inflammation and blood sugar regulation can all influence how we feel.

That's why I encourage women to understand more than just their symptoms.

I encourage them to understand their biology.

Knowledge doesn't replace listening to your body.

It helps you listen more clearly.

Your blood tests won't tell the whole story.
But when they're interpreted alongside your symptoms, lifestyle and health goals, they can provide valuable insights into what your body may be asking for.

Because your body isn't simply trying to get through midlife.
It's adapting to a new season of life.
And the better we understand that transition, the better we can support it.

If you've been told everything is "normal" but you still don't feel your best, perhaps the next question isn't...

"What's wrong with me?"
It's...
"What is my body trying to tell me?"

The supplement that gives your friend more energy could be the same one making you feel anxious, wired or exhausted.

Many women reach midlife with a growing collection of supplements.

Iron for fatigue.
B vitamins for energy.
Magnesium for sleep.
Folate for methylation.
Caffeine or a pre-workout to get through the day.

Often, these choices are based on good intentions, general health advice or something that worked brilliantly for someone else.

But your body is not someone else’s body.

Your genes can influence how you absorb, activate, use and clear certain nutrients and compounds.
This does not mean your genes determine your future.
And it does not mean everyone needs an enormous supplement protocol.

It means context matters.

Midlife is already a time of significant biological change.

Hormones become less predictable.
Sleep may change.
Stress can feel harder to manage.
Muscle, metabolism and nutrient requirements may also shift.

Adding more supplements without understanding what your body actually needs can create more noise, not necessarily more health.

This is why I believe in assessing before applying.

Rather than asking:
“What supplement should women in menopause take?”

A better question may be:
“What does this particular woman need, and what is her body able to use safely and effectively?”

The goal is not to take more.
The goal is to understand your body well enough to support it wisely.

Have you ever taken a supplement that everyone recommended, only to find that it made you feel worse?

So many of my clients come to me feeling confused.

They’ve tried diets, supplements, workouts… and nothing sticks.

Why? Because they’ve been following generic advice instead of their genetic code.

Once we map their blueprint, everything changes:
💡 They understand why certain strategies never worked
💡 They see where their risks lie, and how to reduce them
💡 They finally have clarity on how to support long-term energy and vitality

Knowing your genetic instructions is like having the user manual for your body.

The Real Reason You’re Losing Muscle After 50 (Even If You’re Training and Eating “Healthy”)...

Here’s something no one told you about midlife metabolism 👇

After menopause, your body becomes a "little hard of hearing" when it comes to protein.

While I see some of my female clients not eating enough (which is also a problem for your metabolism) for those that are, it’s that your muscle cells aren’t listening as well to the signals that say, “build and repair.”

This is what researchers call anabolic resistance, and it’s one of the main reasons women lose muscle, gain fat, and feel weaker even when they’re in the gym training and eating “pretty well" outside the gym.

But here’s the fix (and it’s surprisingly simple):

You need to hit your muscle protein synthesis threshold.

This is the minimum dose of protein that switches on your body’s “rebuild” signal. If you are not hitting that level your muscles won't respond adequately.

🔹 How much? Around 30–40 grams of high-quality protein per meal

🔹 The key amino acid? Leucine is the spark plug for muscle building

🔹 When? Every 3–4 hours (with meals), and especially after you’ve moved your body

To give you an idea, that’s about:

🥚 3 eggs + Greek yogurt, or
🍗 150 g chicken or fish, or
🥤 1½ scoops of a good-quality whey or plant isolate

When you start eating to activate, not just to survive, you’ll notice:

✅ Stronger muscles
✅ More stable energy
✅ Fewer cravings
✅ Better metabolic health

Your body is not broken; your biology just needs a different conversation.

If you’re ready to learn how your genes, hormones, and muscle metabolism all work together, we can map your personal thresholds through DNA and functional testing — and rebuild your vitality from the inside out. 💪✨

Many women come to me feeling frustrated because they’re “doing everything right”… yet their body still doesn’t feel like it’s cooperating.

The fatigue.
The brain fog.
The poor sleep.
The weight that suddenly won’t shift.
The feeling of being flat, overwhelmed or unlike yourself.

And often what they need most is not another generic plan…
but clarity.

Clarity around:
• what may actually be happening in their body
• why the old strategies may no longer be working
• what their nervous system, hormones and metabolism may now need
• and where to focus first instead of trying to do everything at once

This is exactly why I offer complimentary FeelGood Clarity Calls for midlife women.

These are gentle, supportive conversations designed to help you better understand:
✨ your current challenges
✨ the patterns underneath them
✨ and the next best steps for your health, energy and wellbeing

No pressure.
No overwhelm.
No judgement.
Just space to feel heard, understood and supported.

My work combines integrative health, nervous system support, lifestyle medicine, behaviour change and personalised strategies to help women move from confusion and exhaustion… to clarity, confidence and sustainable health.

If you’ve been quietly thinking:
“Something feels off, but I can’t quite explain it…”

This conversation may be exactly where to start.

Tomorrow I’m running the Women’s Winter Wellness Webinar, and I’m really looking forward to this conversation.

Winter can be a season where many women notice their bodies asking for something different.

Energy can feel lower.

Motivation can dip.

Comfort eating can increase.

Movement can feel harder.

Sleep may change.

And the body can feel heavier, slower or less familiar.

For midlife women, these changes can feel even more confusing because they are often happening alongside hormonal shifts, stress load, nervous system changes and the accumulated demands of life.

And too often, women are told the answer is simply to try harder.

Eat less.

Exercise more.

Be more disciplined.

Push through.

But what if your body is not asking you to be harder on yourself?

What if it is asking to be understood more clearly?

That is what the webinar is really about.

Not another generic winter wellness checklist.

But a deeper look at how women can support their energy, metabolism, hormones, nervous system and daily rhythms through this season of life.

Because feeling better does not always start with doing more.

Sometimes it starts with understanding what your body is communicating and choosing the next step that is actually aligned with you.

I’m grateful to be sharing this space with the women joining tomorrow.

Here’s to less guessing, less pressure and more clarity in how we care for ourselves through winter and beyond.

Your bones are listening to your lifestyle (and your genetics) — not your birth certificate.

Bone isn’t static.

It’s a living tissue that remodels in response to stress (the good kind).

In midlife, bone turnover speeds up —
so the message matters:

Weak signal → weak bone
Strong signal → strong structure
And no… walking isn’t enough anymore.

✨ Heavier load
✨ Higher effort
✨ Short, purposeful stress
✨ Protein + minerals + Vitamin D/K2

Strong bones are a practice, not a wish.

Want to know your genetic predisposition to bone health? Let's chat about what genetic testing can help you discover.

Belief → Biology → Behaviour → Becoming

Every thought sends a chemical signal through your body.
Your biology influences your behaviour.
Your behaviour influences who you are being and becoming.

Think “I’m stressed” — your body floods with cortisol.
Think “I’ve got this” — oxytocin and dopamine respond.

Your body listens to every belief you hold.

That’s not woo-woo, that’s biochemistry.

This is why the mind-body connection is more than mindset — it’s physiological alignment.

If this intrigues you, discover where your body is aligned with the free FeelGood Alignment Index (link in bio).
