Playroom MVPs 🏅And the winners are…
🧸 Puppets: for giving kids a voice… especially when it’s definitely not them speaking.
🌈 Giant slinky: chaos, regulation, physics experiment, and performance art all in one.
🫧 Fidgets (especially NeeDohs): constantly declared “so rare”… little do they know I’ve been collecting them since before they became social media famous.
🎯 Ball shooter: for aiming, turn-taking, and accidentally-on-purpose hitting me.
💵 Play money: powering cafés, speeding fines, house purchases, and $1000 bananas. The economy is thriving.
🚔 Handcuffs: I remain the most frequently arrested person in the clinic. Charges vary weekly.
🐊 Mr Crocodile: suspense, bravery, and the loudest reactions in the playroom, especially from me😝

No red carpet needed, just a lot of repetition, regulation, connection, and play 💛

When children struggle, they don’t always have the words to explain how they feel.
Instead, their feelings often show up in other ways, through behaviour, big emotions, withdrawal, or the stories they create in play.

Play is a child’s natural way of communicating. Through toys, imagination and creativity, children can safely express feelings, explore experiences and make sense of their world.

In play therapy, this natural process is supported in a safe and trusting environment where children can:
• express emotions
• process experiences
• practise relationships
• build confidence and resilience
• develop new ways of coping

Play may look simple from the outside, but something meaningful is happening.
Through play, children explore, process, and grow🌱

Love play so much I became a master of it🎓✨

After years of study, supervision, placement hours, self-reflection, growth, doubt, courage, and a whole lot of heart… I’ve officially completed my Masters in Child Play Therapy.

Play has never been “just play.” It’s safety. It’s connection. It’s regulation. It’s healing. It’s the language children use when words feel too big.
I am so proud to step into this next chapter - holding space for children and families with deeper knowledge, stronger skills, and the same playful heart that started this journey.
To every child who has trusted me in the playroom, every supervisor who stretched my thinking, every family who believed in the process and the friends I made a long the way, thank you 🤍

Here’s to following what you love… all the way to mastery. 🌈🧸

Play is how children tell their stories💙
This week is International Play Therapy Week, and I’m sharing a little peek inside my play therapy kit! Not just what I bring to sessions, but why I bring it.

Every item has a purpose.
Some help children feel safe.
Some help express big feelings without words.
Some invite imagination, control, and connection.

Because children don’t need the “right words” to be supported, they need the right space, relationship, and play.

✨Happy International Play Therapy Week✨

Save this post for later or tell me- what do you think children reach for first?

More presence. Less pressure.More play. More understanding. 💛

✨Things that sparked joy this week✨

A little peek into the colourful and creative moments that brightened my week, both in sessions and in between🥰

1. New fun name badges: bright, cheerful little reminders of who’s visiting when I pop into homes and schools each week 🫶

2. Rainbow Playdough: a tub for each kiddo, soft, squishy and visually so satisfying! 🌈

3. When everything just matches: got to love some colour coordination! 🤩

4. Tiny tubes of glitter: because a little sparkle makes everything feel magical! ✨

5. A 3D-printed gecko fidget: the sweetest little sensory friend who’s already a hit with busy hands 🦎

6. Fresh rainbow markers: crisp lines, bright colours & endless drawing possibilities 🎨

7. Baby & Mum elephant figures: nurturing play, gentle connection & big feelings held safely❤️‍🩹

8. A beautiful new book: fresh inspiration for supporting little minds through play🧠

Grateful for the playful moments, the quiet in-betweens, & all the joy tucked into this week✨💙
