A paralysed man treated with stem cells regained movement in his upper body.

His name is Kristopher “Kris” Boesen.

In 2016, just before his 21st birthday, Kris was in a devastating car incident that left him paralysed from the neck down.

Doctors warned his family he might never regain control of his limbs.

Then he joined an experimental clinical trial at Keck Medicine of USC.

Researchers injected 10 million stem-cell-derived cells into his damaged spinal cord.
