๐ŸŒŸ Introducing Shruti! ๐ŸŒŸ

We're excited to welcome Shruti to the Back In Motion Ballarat & Bacchus Marsh team! ๐Ÿ’™

Shruti is passionate about helping people of all ages move better, feel stronger, and get back to doing the things they love. Whether it's recovering from a sporting injury, overcoming persistent neck, back or shoulder pain, or rebuilding confidence after a stroke, she's dedicated to helping her patients achieve meaningful goals.

With a special interest in paediatric physiotherapy and neurological rehabilitation, Shruti enjoys supporting both children and adults on their rehabilitation journey. After completing postgraduate training in paediatric physiotherapy, she has developed a particular interest in helping children with developmental and neurological conditions, including Cerebral Palsy. Through fun, play-based therapy sessions, she helps children build confidence, independence, and new skills while making therapy enjoyable.

What Shruti loves most about physiotherapy is building relationships with her patients and celebrating every milestone along the way, no matter how big or small. โค๏ธ

Outside the clinic, you'll often find her spending time with her three dogs ๐Ÿพ or in the garden growing her own vegetables ๐ŸŒฑ.
Please join us in giving Shruti a warm welcome in the comments! ๐Ÿ‘‹

Had a great time at the ACU Ballarat Open Day meeting the next generation of physiotherapists.

It was fantastic to chat with so many enthusiastic and motivated students who are keen to pursue a career in private practice. Their curiosity, energy, and willingness to learn were great to see.

Jay and Sanhita were proud to represent our multi-disciplinary, multi-site Healthia Hub and Back In Motion portfolio, sharing the opportunities available for students and future graduates.

Looking forward to welcoming more student placements in the coming months and continuing to support the next generation of physios on their journey.

โค๏ธ๐ŸŒฟ Happy Valentineโ€™s Day โ€” Show Your Gut Some Love! ๐ŸŒฟโค๏ธ

Did you know your gut microbiome contains around 38โ€“40 trillion bacteria, weighs about 1โ€“2 kg, and functions like a metabolic organ?

Research suggests that eating 30 different plant-based foods per week supports a healthier gut microbiome.

Not 30 servingsโ€ฆ
๐Ÿ‘‰ 30 different plant foods.

Think: ๐Ÿฅฆ Veggies
๐ŸŽ Fruits
๐ŸŒพ Wholegrains
๐Ÿซ˜ Legumes
๐Ÿฅœ Nuts & seeds
๐ŸŒฟ Herbs & spices

๐ŸŒˆ How many colours have you added to your plate today?

A healthy gut supports immunity, hormones, energy โ€” and even pelvic health.

This Valentineโ€™s Day, feed the microbes that love you back ๐Ÿ’•

Drop a ๐ŸŒˆ if youโ€™re taking the 30-plant challenge!

๐ŸŒฟ Strong Team. Stronger Care. ๐ŸŒฟ

This weekend our Back In Motion team took some time out for our โ€œReset & Reconnectโ€ retreat โ€” a chance to recharge, build connections, and spend quality time together outside the clinic.

Because the care we give our community starts with a team that feels supported, connected, and valued ๐Ÿค

There were plenty of laughs, good food, games, and great conversations โ€” and we were lucky to have partners join us too, making it even more special.

Weโ€™re coming back refreshed, energised, and ready to continue helping our community live, move, and feel better every day ๐Ÿ’š
Thank you for trusting us with your health โ€” we love being part of this community.

Sunlight โ˜€๏ธ
The sound of water ๐Ÿ’ง
The rustle of leaves ๐Ÿƒ
And the comfort of family ๐Ÿค
Moments like these calm the nervous system โ€” and when the body softens, the pelvic floor does too.
Rest, gentle movement, and presence are powerful forms of self-care ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธโœจ
Slow down. Breathe. Let your body reset ๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ๐Ÿค

Donโ€™t wait for pain to slow you down ๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿฉน

Taking up a new goal ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŽฏ or getting back into activity?

Simple prep habits help your body absorb load, move efficiently, and stay resilient ๐Ÿ’ช โ€” reducing the risk of injury before it starts.

Whether itโ€™s sport ๐Ÿธ, work ๐Ÿ’ผ, or everyday movement ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™‚๏ธ, preparing your joints and muscles properly means fewer setbacks and more confidence in how you move โœจ.

Not sure where to start?

An injury prevention assessment ๐Ÿง ๐Ÿ“‹ can identify weaknesses, movement patterns, and risk factors before pain appears.

At Back In Motion Ballarat we help you stay one step ahead of injury ๐Ÿ‘ฃ so you can keep doing what you love โค๏ธ.

๐Ÿ Shoulder Pain in Cricket?

Ever wondered why shoulders get sore so easily with bowling, throwing, or overhead work? Letโ€™s keep it simple ๐Ÿ‘‡

๐ŸŒ๏ธ The Shoulder Joint
Think of your shoulder like a golf ball on a tee
๐ŸŸก Ball = upper arm bone (humerus)
๐ŸŸข Tee = shallow socket on the shoulder blade (glenoid)

๐Ÿ‘‰ Great for movement, but less stable โ€” which means easier to overload and injure.

โš™๏ธ How the shoulder works
Designed for movement first, strength second
It allows:
๐Ÿ‹๏ธ Lifting | ๐ŸŽฏ Throwing | ๐Ÿ Bowling | ๐Ÿคฒ Catching

Because of this, it relies heavily on muscle coordination.

๐Ÿ’ช Rotator cuff = key player
Small muscles that control the shoulder during every bowl and throw
Think guy ropes holding a tent pole โ›บ
If theyโ€™re weak, tight, or overworked โ†’ pain starts.

๐Ÿซง Why it hurts
โ€ข Repetitive bowling & throwing
โ€ข Sudden increase in training load
โ€ข Poor shoulder blade control
โ€ข Tight chest or weak rotator cuff

โœ… Good news
Shoulder pain doesnโ€™t always mean damage โ€” it often means the shoulder isnโ€™t coping with load.

๐Ÿ”‘ Fix it properly
โœ” Improve shoulder movement
โœ” Strengthen rotator cuff & shoulder blade muscles
โœ” Build bowling loads gradually

๐Ÿ“ฉ Want to bowl, throw & field without pain? The right physio plan can make all the difference.

Call us today and book with one of our Physios to get a personalised treatment plan for your shoulder.
