This year's winter solstice was a much smaller gathering. I'm getting better at listening and tending to my body and this gear it was very clear that l didn't have the energy for a big community event.
The world has been getting so much louder of late and l have been quite inward focused as l navugate the best way to respond to all that is happening around us. I will share more on this dreaming another time soon..........solstice blessings magical ones!
❄️Winter Solstice is the sacred pause. The great exhale of the year. The moment we sit in the dark, honour what has ended, and tend the first small flame of what is beginning.
❄️It represents the deepest point of winter: the longest night, the shortest day, and the turning point where the light begins to return.
❄️It marks the death and rebirth of the Sun, the moment when darkness reaches its fullness and the first promise of new light is born.
Symbolically, Winter Solstice carries themes of:
Rest and retreat — nature has drawn inward, and we are invited to do the same.
Death and rebirth — old cycles, identities, griefs, or burdens can be released into the dark.
Hope returning — even though winter is still present, the light has begun its return.
Inner wisdom — the darkness is not seen as bad, but as fertile, womb-like, mysterious, and full of potential.
🌀It is a time of deep listening!
Journey into the cave, the underworld, the womb of the Earth, or the roots of the Tree of Life to receive guidance, healing, and renewal.
From a shamanic perspective, this season asks:
“What must I surrender before the new light can grow?”
“What wisdom lives in the dark?”
“What part of me is ready to be reborn?”
“What ember within me is still alive, even in the cold?”
