50% of fertility challenges are on the male side. Are you testing it?

S***m contributes 50% of the DNA to the embryo, yet the male side is often the last thing assessed.

When I work with couples on fertility and preconception care, I look at three key areas:

🔬 Semen analysis — s***m count, motility, morphology and volume. Important, but it doesn’t tell us everything.

🧪 S***m DNA fragmentation looks at the level of DNA damage within the s***m. Often influenced by oxidative stress, lifestyle, inflammation and metabolic health. Linked to recurrent miscarriage and poorer embryo development.

🩸 Blood work covers reproductive hormones, nutrients, thyroid, metabolic and inflammatory markers to understand what’s driving the picture.

S***m health is not a footnote in the fertility conversation.

If only one side of the couple is being assessed, we may be missing half the picture.

If your cycle is irregular, this is for you.

Your period is one of the clearest signals your body gives you about what is happening with your hormones, thyroid, metabolism and nutrient status.

And if it is all over the place, something worth investigating is usually driving it.

I created a free guide that walks you through what irregular cycles actually mean, what may be disrupting your ovulation, what to track and what pathology may be worth investigating.

No crash diet.
No intense exercise protocol.
Just targeted supplementation addressing what was actually going on.

This client came in with Hashimoto’s, stage 4 endometriosis, and a zinc deficiency driving elevated copper, which was feeding both her oestrogen dominance and her autoimmune picture.

Once we started supporting the right pathways, her body responded within weeks.

Weight that won’t shift, puffiness, fatigue, painful periods?

These are often inflammation signals, not lifestyle failures.

If you’ve been doing everything “right” and still feel off, there’s usually something worth investigating underneath.

If this resonates, comment ‘CONSULT’ to book your free discovery call, and let’s get you back on track! 🩷

✨ Tips for supporting PMS via oestrogen detoxification ✨

PMS is common, but it’s not something we should simply accept as “normal”.
Symptoms such as breast tenderness, mood changes, irritability, fluid retention, headaches, acne, cravings and painful periods may be signs that your body needs more support with hormone metabolism and clearance.

Oestrogen is essential for healthy cycles, fertility, mood, cognition, skin and bone health. But once it has done its job, it needs to be metabolised through the liver and cleared through the bowel.

To support this process, focus on:
✔️ Daily bowel motions
✔️ Fibre-rich foods (chia seeds, flaxseeds or simply increasing fruits, vegetables, grains and legumes)
✔️ Adequate protein (30g at every meal minimum and based on your lifestyle)
✔️ B vitamins, magnesium, zinc, selenium and glycine
✔️ Gut microbiome support - Feel something is off? Ask me for a comprehensive gut microbiome analysis!
✔️ Stress and inflammation reduction. This is should actually be Number 1…

When bowel motions are sluggish, fibre intake is low, stress is high, inflammation is present, gut health is off or nutrient status is suboptimal, oestrogen clearance may become less efficient… and PMS symptoms may become more pronounced.

The body is communicating constantly. Are you listening?

Comment “PCOS” and I’ll send you my FREE oestrogen clearance guide! 🥦

We need to stop accepting PMS as normal and start questioning what the body is trying to tell us. Listen closely… does your gut, liver, bowel, nervous system, inflammatory pathways or nutrient status need support?

Oestrogen is essential for healthy cycles, fertility, mood, cognition, skin and bone health.
But once it has done its job, it needs to be metabolised through the liver and cleared through the bowel. Issues with this process = oestrogen overload.

Oestrogen detox relies on:
* adequate protein
* B vitamins
* magnesium
* zinc
* selenium
* glycine
* methyl donors
* bile flow
* fibre intake
* daily bowel motions
* a healthy gut microbiome

When bowel motions are sluggish, fibre intake is low, stress is high, inflammation is present, gut health is off or nutrient status is suboptimal, oestrogen clearance may become less efficient.

PCOS can feel confusing and overwhelming. It’s important to understand that it is influenced long before symptoms show up.

Research shows PCOS is not just hormonal… it’s epigenetic.

Environmental factors can “switch on” PCOS-related genes

These include:
• Diet quality
• Stress
• Endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs)
• Circadian disruption (sleep + light exposure)

These factors influence:
• Insulin signalling
• Hormone production
• Inflammation
• HPA-axis function

Meaning PCOS is not just something you “have”…
It’s something that develops through interaction with your environment.

There is not a one size fits all for PCOS. This is why a holistic approach matters.

Because when you change the inputs…
you can influence how those genes are expressed.

If this resonates send me a DM, I would love to support you 🙏🌸

Endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) are everywhere! — In plastics, personal care, cleaning products, and even your food.

These compounds can:
✔️ mimic hormones (especially oestrogen)
✔️ block receptors
✔️ alter hormone signalling + metabolism

Over time, this cumulative exposure has been associated with:
• PCOS
• endometriosis
• fibroids
• impaired fertility

The key isn’t perfection, it’s reducing your total load.

Start with the highest impact areas:
• avoid heating food in plastic
• prioritise daily-use personal care products
• reduce synthetic fragrances + cleaning products
• support cleaner food + water choices

Small, consistent changes = meaningful shifts in your hormonal environment

This is one of the most overlooked drivers of hormone imbalance.

PMS & PMDD are not “just hormones”

If your symptoms show up like clockwork every month, mood changes, anxiety, breast tenderness, poor sleep, it can feel frustrating and confusing… especially when you’ve been told everything is “normal”.

But it’s not random. And it’s not in your head.

It’s your body’s response to hormonal shifts, not just the hormone levels themselves.

• Oestrogen excess can drive fluid retention, breast tenderness and mood changes
• Low progesterone can impact GABA activity, contributing to anxiety, poor sleep and luteal phase issues
• Neurotransmitter sensitivity can amplify your response to normal hormonal fluctuations
• Elevated prolactin can suppress progesterone production

• Chronic stress can disrupt the HPO axis
• Cortisol can suppress ovulation and progesterone output
• Inflammation can worsen overall symptom severity

This is why you can still feel awful… even with “normal labs”.

Your symptoms are valid. And they’re giving us clues.

When we support these pathways properly, we can improve:
• Mood stability
• Cycle regularity
• Fertility outcomes

You don’t have to just push through this every month. There are reasons behind what you’re experiencing, and there is a way to support it.

If you want help understanding your cycle and what’s driving your symptoms, send me a DM and let’s chat hormones.

Thinking about trying for a baby in 2026?

Here’s what most people don’t realise:
fertility isn’t something you switch on when you start trying — it’s shaped months (even years) beforehand.

Egg quality is influenced 3–6 months before ovulation.
S***m quality reflects the previous ~90 days.
Hormones, nutrients, gut health and stress physiology all play a role long before conception occurs.

Research consistently links deficiencies in key nutrients — including iron, zinc, iodine, selenium, B12, folate and vitamin D — to challenges with ovulation, progesterone, implantation and miscarriage risk.

Add in chronic stress, inflammation, or undiagnosed gut or vaginal microbiome imbalances, and the body may not feel safe enough to conceive — even when cycles look “normal”.

Preconception care isn’t about taking a prenatal and hoping for the best.
It’s about optimising the terrain so your body is supported before pregnancy begins.
