Mums and babies are more connected than most people realise.

When mum is stressed, exhausted, tense, running on empty… babies feel it too.
And when babies are unsettled, uncomfortable, not sleeping well or hard to settle… mums carry that load all day long.

That’s why we love caring for both.

For mums, it might be the physical stress of pregnancy, feeding, lifting, poor sleep, or just feeling constantly “on.”

For babies, we check how their little body is moving and adapting after birth and through those early months.

A healthy nervous system helps both mum and bub handle life better.

Most people don’t realise how gentle this actually is…

When we check babies, we’re not forcing or cracking anything.
It’s light, specific, and adapted to their tiny bodies.

That’s why so many parents are surprised the first time they see it.

We’re simply assessing how your child is moving and where there may be tension through their spine and joints.

A healthy nervous system = a healthy child

Not force. Not guesswork.

Just gentle, specific input to a growing nervous system.

Because how they start… matters.

The nervous system is the master controller of your baby’s body. 🧠
That’s why we love seeing the little ones early.
12 weeks old and getting their nervous system checked — because healthy foundations matter. 🌿

Your nervous system doesn’t just control how you feel — it controls how you move, hold tension, and compensate.

When it’s under stress, your body adapts. Tight shoulders. Clenched jaw. Stiff neck. These aren’t random — they’re patterns.

We assess the nervous system’s role in your musculoskeletal health. Not just where it hurts, but why your body is holding tension there in the first place.

Children’s nervous systems are still developing. They borrow regulation from the world around them.

Some simple things that tend to support this process:

More time outside. Natural light and movement help the body settle and reset.

Less constant stimulation. Screens, noise and busy schedules can keep some kids in a heightened state.

Consistent sleep routines. Predictability helps the brain switch between alert and rest.

Unstructured movement and play. Climbing, rolling, running and exploring all feed the nervous system useful sensory input.

Calm environments and calm adults. Kids often mirror the regulation they see around them.

Every child is different, but small daily habits often have a bigger impact than people realise.

Most families notice changes when they start supporting the nervous system, not just the behaviour.

One of the most common things parents tell us is this.

“My child is fine at school… then the moment we get home they completely lose it.”

After a full day of concentrating, sitting still, following instructions, noise, lights and constant stimulation, some kids simply run out of regulation.

So the system releases the pressure in the place they feel safest. Home.

That afternoon meltdown is not always bad behaviour. Sometimes it is just a nervous system that has been working very hard all day.

This is something we look at quite closely with families because regulation, sleep, movement and stress are all connected.

Many parents are surprised by how common this pattern is.

If this sounds familiar, you are definitely not the only family seeing it.

Growth spurts
Learning new skills
Busy environments
Big emotions

Their bodies are adapting to a lot.

Children experience stress differently than adults, but their bodies still have to process it.

Movement, sleep, and regulation are often the first places parents notice changes.

Sometimes families simply want someone to assess how their child’s body is adapting and moving.

Awareness is powerful for parents.

After working with kids for years you start to notice patterns most people assume are just part of growing up.

Trouble settling at night even when they are exhausted.
Big meltdowns after daycare or school.
Constant fidgeting or restlessness.
Leaning or slouching when they sit.

Parents usually say
“They’ve always been like that.”

And sometimes that is true.

But sometimes these patterns are just signs a child’s body is under more stress than it needs to be.

Most families simply adapt to these things over time.

Our job is just to look a little closer at how the body is moving and adapting as kids grow.

Often there is more going on than people realise.

Most parents are incredibly diligent with their children’s health.

Dental checks.
Eye checks.
Developmental checks.

But one area that is rarely looked at is how a baby’s body handled the physical process of birth.

Birth can involve significant pressure, twisting, and traction on a baby’s head, neck, and spine. Even in very smooth births, it is still a big mechanical event for a very small body.

Sometimes babies adapt beautifully. Sometimes they carry a bit of tension or restriction through their spine or muscles.

That is why some families choose to have their baby’s movement and spinal function assessed by a chiropractor trained to work with children.

Not because something is “wrong”.
Just to understand how their little body is adapting.

If you have ever wondered whether your baby’s body handled birth smoothly, we are always happy to take a look and explain what we find.
