Most conversations about low libido start with hormones.

But what if the conversation should start with capacity?

Because it's very hard to feel open, connected, and receptive when you've spent the entire day giving everything away.

What if low libido isn't a sign your body is failing?

What if it's a sign your body has nothing left to give?

That's a very different conversation.

So many women quietly think: “What’s wrong with me?”

But low libido in midlife is often not about: not loving your partner or “not trying hard enough.”

It’s what happens when:

stress stays high
sleep stays poor
hormones shift
the nervous system stays overloaded
and the body never fully feels rested or safe.

Women are expected to keep giving, long after their body has run out of capacity.

And eventually the body stops responding with openness and starts responding with protection instead.

One of the hardest parts about GSM is that many women think: “This is just what happens now.”

So they stay silent.

Meanwhile they may be experiencing:
burning
irritation
urinary urgency
discomfort
recurrent “UTIs”
pain with intimacy
and feeling disconnected from their body.

Women deserve better explanations than: “that’s just aging.”

Because understanding what’s happening changes everything.

One thing I see repeatedly in clinic:

Women being treated over and over for “UTIs”…
despite tests not always clearly showing infection.

Then begins the cycle:
antibiotics,
irritation,
thrush,
more discomfort,
more urgency,
more antibiotics.

Meanwhile nobody has explained that hormonal tissue changes in menopause can mimic infection symptoms:

burning
urgency
irritation
bladder discomfort
dryness.

And women quietly start thinking: “My body is falling apart.”

This is why understanding the whole picture matters.

Because sometimes the issue isn’t recurring infection.

It’s GSM:
Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause — a very common but under-discussed hormonal tissue change.

One of the biggest problems in women’s health is that symptoms get treated separately.

Bladder.
Hormones.
Dryness.
Itching.
Pain.
Urgency.

But the body doesn’t work in departments.

And many women are shocked to learn menopause can affect:

bladder tissue
vaginal tissue
urinary symptoms
irritation
and comfort.

Sometimes the body is telling one connected story.

So many women quietly adapt around symptoms they feel embarrassed to talk about.

Burning.
Urgency.
Dryness.
Discomfort.
Repeated “UTIs.”
Avoiding intimacy because things just don’t feel the same anymore.

And often nobody joins the dots.

My live on Monday was all about
Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause —
what it actually is,
why it’s so often missed,
and why women deserve proper explanations instead of silently tolerating discomfort.

Come watch the replay whilst it is still there

So many women quietly adapt around symptoms they think are unrelated.

Burning.
Urgency.
Dryness.
Discomfort.
Repeated “UTIs.”
Avoiding intimacy.
Feeling different in their body.

And often nobody explains that hormonal tissue changes can connect all of these symptoms together.

Women are whole systems — not isolated symptoms.

One thing I see constantly in clinic is women with years of “borderline” issues:

• slightly elevated glucose
• mildly raised cholesterol
• increasing waist circumference
• worsening fatigue
• rising blood pressure
• poor sleep
• thyroid symptoms

Not sick enough for answers.
But not functioning well either.

And often every symptom gets treated separately.

Meanwhile nobody explains: these systems are deeply interconnected.

This is why I focus so heavily on:
• metabolic flexibility
• nervous system regulation
• blood sugar stability
• inflammation support
• recovery
• and restoring rhythm in the body

Because women are whole systems —>
not isolated symptoms 💛

One of the biggest shifts women have during this series is realising: 👉 their symptoms are not random.

And honestly?
That changes everything.

Because women stop seeing themselves as: “failing at health”

…and start understanding the pattern underneath what their body has been trying to say.
