We provide specialised support for people diagnosed with cancer and other chronic diseases. There are weekly yoga and meditation classes in our cosy studio where numbers are limited to 12 participants so you can be assured of personalised care and attention. We host regular day retreats at our beautiful eco property and other inspiring locations in Perth, and longer retreats in stunning settings i

n Australia and Asia. As very experienced practitioners we offer workshops, mentoring and training to yoga teachers, complementary therapists, nurses, social workers and other allied health professionals who wish to add holistic skills to their ability to work well with people with cancer and chronic illness. Consultations are available by appointment via Zoom or in person in Banksia Grove, Perth, Western Australia. Saunas and menopause 🔥🌿

For many women, the perimenopausal lead up to menopause, and the post-menopausal phase too can bring symptoms like hot flushes, disrupted sleep, changes in mood, joint pain and increased stress on the nervous system.

Emerging research suggests regular sauna use may help support the body through this transition by improving thermoregulation (the body’s ability to manage temperature change) while also supporting cardiovascular health, circulation, recovery and relaxation.

Just as importantly, sauna can become a ritual of rest... a space to slow down, breathe deeply and reconnect with yourself during a season of significant change.

Sometimes what helps most isn’t advice or trying to 'fix' things, it’s simply having someone accept you unconditionally. Someone who listens without judgement and creates space for you to process what you’re carrying.

We have big news…

We fell in love with a sauna in the forest on our trip down south - so we’re building one at Surya Health!

Our sauna will be traditional wood fired, designed to immerse you in nature while you soak up the benefits of heat therapy and nature bathing. Think deep warmth, fresh air, the crackle of firewood and a calming view of the outdoors.

Beyond the beautiful experience itself, regular sauna use has been linked to a wide range of health benefits from supporting thermoregulation during hot flushes, to cardiovascular health, chronic pain management and post exercise recovery.

Is yoga safe if I have injuries or pain?
What if I can’t kneel or get on the floor easily?

These are some of the most common (and important) questions we hear and the answer is: yes, yoga can absolutely be adapted to meet you where you are.

If you have injuries, stiffness or mobility limitations there are always options. What matters most is listening to your body and choosing what feels right for you in that moment.

Not every day needs to be a deep backbend, and we will say straight away that there is absolutely no requirement to fling yourself into Urdhva Dhanurasana like you’re auditioning for Cirque du Soleil!

But sometimes, just for fun, you might explore a little lift, a little opening, a little “wow I did not know my spine did that.” And if today is not that day, just know that child’s pose is still undefeated.
