We write a post.
One person reads it and becomes protective of of person posting.
Another decides someone in the story is an idiot.
Another thinks theyโre blaming someone.
Another completely understands what the person was actually exploring.
And sometimes Iโm sitting there thinking:
Did we read the same post I wrote? ๐
But actuallyโฆ we didnโt.
We read the same WORDS.
We experienced them through completely different lenses.
๐Our history.
๐Our beliefs.
๐Our relationships.
๐Our wounds.
๐Our values.
๐Our worldview.
We fill in the gaps with ๐ฆ๐๐๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ that sometimes isnโt even there.
And I LOVE noticing this.
Because itโs such a simple demonstration of something
We donโt just respond to what actually happened.
We respond to what we made it MEAN.
Same words.
Completely different realities.
The interesting question isnโt:
What did they mean?
But instead:
What did a person hearโฆ and what does THAT reveal about the self ๐ฅ
