✨ Our 2026 Group Programs Are Here — and we’ve planned an entire year of growth, connection and fun! ✨

At Tiny Tackers Therapy, we know children thrive when they’re supported across the whole year. That’s why we’ve carefully planned a full calendar of group programs designed to follow your child’s journey.

💪 Term 3 – Skills & Confidence
From social communication to life skills and online teamwork, Term 3 programs help children take brave steps forward.

🎉 Term 4 – Play & Celebration
We finish the year with playful exploration, friendship, communication, and celebrating everything your child has achieved.

With programs running across all four terms, there’s something for every child, every stage, and every strength.
We can’t wait to share 2026 with you! Click the link in our bio to register your interest for any of our groups. We will be in touch closer to the group date to finalise numbers.

🌈 The Power of Open-Ended Play 🚂✨

At Tiny Tackers Therapy, we love toys that can become anything a child imagines.

Unlike toys with a single purpose, open-ended toys encourage children to use their imagination, creativity and problem-solving skills. There is no “right” or “wrong” way to play, allowing children to explore ideas, experiment, and create their own stories.

Open-ended play supports:

✨ Creativity and imagination
✨ Language and storytelling skills
✨ Problem-solving and flexible thinking ✨ Social skills and collaboration
✨ Fine motor and construction skills
✨ Confidence and independence

The best part? Open-ended toys grow with your child. The same rainbow arches that become tunnels for a toddler today might become bridges, houses, fences or marble runs for an older child tomorrow.

💡 Open-ended play doesn’t have to be expensive! Some of the best play materials are probably already in your home:

📦 Cardboard boxes – houses, cars, boats, cubbies and rocket ships

🥄 Kitchen items – plastic containers, wooden spoons, measuring cups and mixing bowls for imaginative play

♻️ Recycling materials – toilet rolls, egg cartons, bottle lids and cardboard tubes for creating and building

🛋️ Cushions and blankets – cubbies, and obstacle courses

🌿 Nature treasures – sticks, leaves, and rocks for small world play and creating pictures

🧺 Loose parts – pegs, ribbons, pom poms, corks and containers.

Children don’t need lots of toys to learn and develop. In fact, children often play for longer, use more imagination, and demonstrate more flexible thinking when playing with open-ended materials than toys that have a single purpose or electronic features 💕

We recently took some time to update our team photos 📸💕

Looking through these photos made me feel so grateful for the team we’ve built at Tiny Tackers. Every single person brings something different to the clinic, and together they create such a supportive, fun and caring environment for the kids and families we work with.
Running a business can be chaotic at times, but having a team who genuinely care about the children they support (and each other) makes all the difference.

Feeling very lucky to work alongside such wonderful humans every day 💕

Navigating reduced school hours or modified timetables can feel overwhelming for families. 💛

We wanted to share this fantastic free resource from the Association for Children with a Disability (ACD) which explains:
✨ What a modified timetable is
✨ When it may be appropriate
✨ Your child’s rights at school
✨ Reasonable adjustments schools should consider
✨ How families and schools can work together collaboratively

Many families don’t realise that reduced hours should generally be a temporary, planned support strategy — not a long-term replacement for appropriate adjustments and supports at school.

Victorian Department of Education policy states that modified timetables should be time-limited, agreed upon collaboratively, and used alongside strategies to support participation and re-engagement. (Department of Education Victoria)

At Tiny Tackers, we are passionate about supporting children to access education safely, meaningfully, and alongside their peers through neurodiversity-affirming and collaborative approaches. 💚

After our renovations, our Tiny Tackers Parent Library is finally back and set up in our second (quieter) waiting area 📚💗

Our library is filled with books and resources around neurodiversity, emotions, parenting, sensory processing, child development, anxiety, self-regulation and more — all available for families to browse during visits.

Sometimes the right book, idea, or perspective can help a parent feel seen, supported, and a little less alone. 🤍

If you are interested in borrowing a book, please chat to your therapist during your visit.
