Discomfort doesn’t always mean “stop” - but it can be a sign to modify.

If your technique is breaking down, pain is increasing, symptoms are lingering, or you’re compensating elsewhere, it may be time to adjust the exercise.

Changing the weight, range, speed or reps can help you keep moving while working within your current capacity.

Not sure what to change? That’s where a physio can help.

🌟 Patient Highlight: Maureen

Almost two years ago, Maureen came to see Tom with an important goal: to stay mobile, strong and independent. At the time, Maureen had experienced four falls in the previous 12 months. She wanted to improve her strength, balance and mobility to reduce her risk of further falls and the injuries and fractures that can come with them.
Fast forward almost two years… Maureen hasn’t had a single fall! 👏 She continues to be independent, active and involved in her community, and we couldn’t be prouder of how far she has come.

Maureen is absolutely killing it! 💪❤️

Running isn’t inherently bad for your knees, ankles or feet. 🏃‍♀️

Most running injuries occur when the demands of training exceed your body’s current capacity - whether that’s from increasing distance too quickly, adding hills or speed work, changing terrain, or simply not allowing enough time to recover.

The good news? You don’t necessarily need to stop running.

Building your training gradually, strength training, prioritising recovery and addressing pain early can all help improve your ability to tolerate running load.

And while a little post-run soreness can be normal, persistent or worsening pain is worth paying attention to.

Swipe through to learn more about some of the most common running injuries and what you can do to reduce your risk.

Recovery doesn't always involve complicated exercises.

Sometimes it's the simple movements that lay the foundation for stronger, more confident movement.

Every rehabilitation program is tailored to your body, your injury, and your goals.

Exercise is one of the most powerful tools we have for maintaining independence, mobility, and quality of life as we age.

Our physio-led exercise classes combine evidence-based movement with a supportive group environment - helping participants build strength, improve balance, and move with confidence.

Could your daily habits be contributing to those persistent aches and pains? 🤔

Sometimes it's not one big event that causes discomfort - it's the small things we do every day. Spending hours at a desk, skipping your warm-up, or lifting incorrectly can all place extra strain on your body over time.

The good news? Small changes can make a big difference.

Last week Chelcie visited Precision fit to talk about the role of pelvic floor in weight lifting, particularly in women around menopause. They discussed pelvic floor symptoms that may occur during lifting weights including urinary incontinence or prolapse symptoms and how to modify movements to prevent these symptoms.

Pelvic health symptoms are extremely common with 1 in 3 Australians experiencing urinary incontinence. Whilst it is common, there are different strategies and treatments that can be implemented to prevent and treat pelvic health symptoms.

Your physio doesn’t just want to see you when something hurts… we want to help you keep doing the things you love.

The good news? Looking after your body doesn’t have to mean complicated routines or hours in the gym.

Small, consistent habits; moving regularly, building strength, taking breaks, and listening to your body, can make a big difference to how you feel and move every day.

Think of it as investing in your future self.

Last week, the "Therabandits" took on the Airlie Beach Marathon! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🎉

What started as a simple idea about a year ago, to create a run club with a few of our physio’s, soon turned into a shared goal of completing a marathon.

After months of training and plenty of kilometres together, the team crossed the finish line with fantastic results. 👏

A huge congratulations to Hugh, who smashed out an impressive personal best, and to Lillie, Lachie, and Tom, who all completed their first ever marathon!

We're so proud of the Therabandits! 💙
