Happy International Friendship Day! What a fantastic month July has been!

July was filled with plenty of birthday celebrations, a delicious KFC catered staff meeting, the opening of our new Skin Cancer Centre location, matching kits and even a visit from a very special furry friend. 🐾🎉🍗

We're incredibly grateful for our friendships within this amazing team, whose kindness, teamwork and positivity make a real difference every day, for both our staff and our patients. Here's to another great month ahead!

🩺 State-Funded Meningococcal B (MenB) Vaccinations are now available at Australian Family Medical.

Australian Family Medical is now offering the State-Funded Meningococcal B (MenB) Vaccine Program for eligible Tasmanian infants. 🎉

From 1 July 2026, the Tasmanian Government introduced this funded vaccination program to help protect babies and young children against meningococcal B disease.

❓ What is meningococcal disease?
Meningococcal disease is an uncommon but potentially serious bacterial infection that can develop rapidly. Vaccination is the most effective way to help protect young children and reduce their risk of becoming seriously unwell. ❤️‍🩹

❓Who is eligible for the funded MenB vaccination?
Eligible children who reside in Tasmania and have a valid Medicare card can receive the vaccine at the following ages:
• 6 weeks
• 4 months
• 12 months

A catch-up program is also available for eligible children under 2 years of age.
Protect your little one with timely vaccination, if your child is eligible under the Tasmanian Government's funded program, we encourage you to book their vaccination with our team. 👩‍⚕️

🎉 We've had a great two weeks hosting our latest Medical Student, Kate, a fifth-year UTAS medical student to the Australian Family Medical team for her GP placement! 💚

As a teaching practice, Australian Family Medical is proud to host medical students to help train the next generation of doctors. 👩‍⚕️

We love sharing our passion for GP with Kate through our partnership with the University of Tasmania. Kate has chosen to undertake her elective training placement with our practice as she works towards her goal of becoming a General Practitioner. 💚

We're thrilled to be part of her journey and look forward to supporting her as she gains valuable hands on experience in GP.

🎉Exciting news for our Skin Cancer Centre – we're moving! 🎉

It's official, AFM Skin Cancer Clinic is moving to a bigger and better home at 25 Argyle Street, right next to the hospital.
We've been working hard behind the scenes with extensive renovations and brand new custom fit out for the space! 🛠👷

📍 From July 20th, you'll find us in our brand new clinic space. After opening our Skin Cancer Centre in September 2025, we quickly outgrew the space and with Tasmania having some of the highest rates of skin cancer in Australia, expanding our clinic means we can continue improving access to early detection and treatment for more people across Hobart.

You'll find the same friendly faces and welcoming care at our new location!

Our new clinic will offer:
