A very happy 100th birthday to Ted from everyone at Homestyle Ferndale Gardens!

Ted celebrated this incredible milestone surrounded by family, residents and staff, with live entertainment from Jeff Pattison, plenty of birthday cheer and a delicious birthday cake. It was a wonderful celebration as everyone came together to recognise and honour this remarkable milestone.

Residents at Homestyle Ferndale Gardens came together to celebrate National Italian Day this week with a traditional lunch of Lasagna followed by the classic dessert, Tiramisu. No Italian meal is complete without a glass of wine or beer, which was on offer to all in attendance.

National country days are an important celebration in aged care. Not only do they honor resident’s diverse cultural backgrounds, but they also ensure that everyone feels respected and recognised.

International Nurses Day was celebrated at Homestyle Ferndale Gardens with a delicious spread of hot savouries, cakes, and sweet treats prepared by the wonderful kitchen team.

Director of Nursing, Lakshmi, shared a heartfelt speech recognising the dedication, compassion, and ongoing support shown by staff each and every day. It was a lovely opportunity to come together and celebrate the incredible nurses and care team who make such a meaningful difference in the lives of residents.

Mother’s Day was celebrated with a beautiful Afternoon High Tea at Ferndale Gardens.

The room was beautifully decorated bringing together residents, families, and staff for a special afternoon filled with warmth and connection. Residents were also delighted with thoughtful Mother’s Day gifts, while lucky door prizes added plenty of excitement, smiles, and laughter.

A wonderful afternoon of cherished memories shared together, Happy Mother's Day. 💙

Homestyle Ferndale Gardens, came together to honour the war veterans and reflect on their courage and sacrifice 🌺

Residents, staff, and visitors gathered for a heartfelt commemorative service, with moments of silence and moving poetry readings. Resident Liz and staff member Di shared beautiful poems, creating a meaningful and reflective atmosphere for all.

At the conclusion of the service, resident Vincent delivered a touching tribute, playing Waltzing Matilda on the harmonica.

A special moment of remembrance, held together in honour of those who have served and continue to serve.

This week at Homestyle Ferndale Gardens, we had the absolute joy of celebrating Ray’s incredible 100th birthday!

Ray marked this special milestone with his daughter Denise, grandson Lachlan, and family friend Geraldine who joined him for a truly meaningful celebration.

Director of Nursing, Lakshmi, and the team also joined in on the celebrations, Ray was especially honoured to receive birthday cards from The King and Queen, the Prime Minister of Australia, and the Governor-General, Ms Samantha Mostyn.

Wishing Ray continued happiness, good health, and many more cherished moments ahead! 🎁

Homestyle Ferndale Gardens residents enjoyed a delightful morning out 🌿☀️

A bus outing to The Greenery in Mt Evelyn was the perfect way to enjoy some fresh air and good company. The morning began with a delicious cuppa, cake and freshly baked scones at Tram Xpresso Café.

Residents then spent time exploring the beautiful indoor giftware and lush greenery, followed by a relaxing stroll through the outdoor nursery. A wonderful day filled with smiles and great company.

Moments like these bring joy, connection, and a chance to enjoy the simple pleasures together.
