A bright and spacious yoga studio + events space in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges in Belgrave. Our classes range in temperature from 22 - 28 degrees.

Our spacious light filled studio is a sweet 2 min walk from Belgrave station on Belgrave main street. Our friendly, professional staff will help you develop and deepen your practice and awaken your best self. The studio also hosts an array of transformational workshops and dance classes. Our diverse timetable has been designed to offer you a variety of yoga styles to suit all levels, allowing you

to find the class that best suits you and your lifestyle.

At Ananda we use infrared heating panels to increase the benefit of your yoga practice, by penetrating deep into your working muscles to give your body an increased range of movement as you progress through your class. Discover the rhythm and technique fundamentals of Arabic and Turkish percussion in this seated lecture presented by master drummer, Matt Stonehouse. Learn about the history and craftsmanship of darbuka and frame drums, as well as the many different drums that make up an Arabic Drumming ensemble.

Matt Stonehouse specialises in Arabic and Turkish style percussion, focusing on darbuka and frame drums. He has performed/ recorded with Jeff Martin (The Tea Party), Alwan Trio, Ross Daly quartet, Van Diemen's band, Orchestra Victoria and many more. Matt is passionate about the art of frame drums, handcrafting beautiful pieces from his workshop in St Andrews.

Open level. No prior knowledge required.

DRUM AND DANCE Dance Workshop $67

Arabic music is known for its intricate melodies and vibrant, compelling rhythms. We invite you to join us for an immersive workshop that will take you on a rich musical and dance journey across Egypt and beyond. Join Prue, a professional Bellydancer and Dance Teacher and Matt, an expert in Arabic and Turkish drumming to explore which classic belly dance steps pair with specific rhythms, allowing you to dance authentically and with musicality. Gain hands-on understanding of how drummers and dancers work together to connect to each other and the music to create a dynamic performance.

Prue is a passionate dancer and teacher with 40 years experience in the dance world. She holds a Diploma of Dance Teaching and loves to help students feel confident in their technique and performance skills.

Suitable for beyond beginners, with at least 6 months training in Bellydance.
