Every patient consultation starts long before they walk into the room.

Before meeting a patient, our team reviews referrals, previous imaging, medical history and any pre-appointment information to ensure the consultation is as thorough and efficient as possible.

It's one of the ways we help make every appointment count, for both patients and referring GPs.

At NSW Spine Specialists, preparation is part of providing exceptional spine care.

What is a Cobb Angle?

The Cobb angle is the measurement spine specialists use to assess and monitor scoliosis. It helps track changes in spinal curvature over time and plays an important role in treatment planning.

Have you noticed uneven shoulders, a curved posture, or a more rounded upper back?

Many people have heard of scoliosis and kyphosis, but understanding the difference isn't always straightforward.

Scoliosis causes the spine to curve sideways, while kyphosis results in an excessive forward rounding of the upper back. Both conditions can affect children and adults, and early assessment can make a significant difference in treatment options and outcomes.

Our latest article explains:
🔹 The signs and symptoms of scoliosis and kyphosis
🔹 What causes these conditions
🔹 How spinal curves are diagnosed
🔹 Available treatment options
🔹 When to seek specialist advice

If you have concerns about your child's posture or changes in your own spine, our team is here to help.

This International Nurses Day, we are celebrating the strength of teamwork within our nursing team at NSW Spine Specialists.

This year’s theme, “Empowered Nurses Save Lives”, highlights the importance of supporting and uplifting one another, something our nurses do every day. Whether it’s mentoring, collaborating, stepping in to help, or simply being there for each other, that support makes a real difference to both our team and our patients.

We are also grateful to all of the nurses who work closely with Dr Brian Hsu and Dr Bhisham Singh across our hospitals. Thank you for your dedication, compassion and commitment to our patients.

Great to see Dr Brian Hsu again contributing to this year’s DDU ASEAN meeting as part of the Steering Committee, as well as a speaker and moderator.

The continued growth of DDU ASEAN reflects the strength of collaboration across the ASEAN+HK spine community, and it’s encouraging to see such a strong focus on shared learning, case discussion and advancing spine care across the region.

Wishing all attendees a valuable and engaging two days of discussion and connection.
