🎉 OT-Supported Play Sessions Now Available on the Bellarine!

Are you looking for a fun, supportive, and inclusive play experience for your child?

Independent Milestones has partnered with Meerkat Maner Indoor Play Centre to offer Occupational Therapist-supported play sessions for NDIS participants.

These sessions provide a unique opportunity for neurodivergent children to access the play centre in a quieter, low-demand environment, with the space reserved exclusively for their booking. With individualised support from an Occupational Therapist, children can develop skills, build confidence, and engage in meaningful play tailored to their interests and goals.

June is PTSD Awareness Month.

At Independent Milestones, we acknowledge that not all wounds are visible.

For some children, young people, and adults,
trauma can impact the way they feel,
the way they connect and the way they experience the world around them.

This month, we recognise the children, young people, adults, and families living with the impacts of PTSD.

We also acknowledge the growing body of research showing that autistic individuals are both more likely to experience traumatic events and more likely to develop PTSD following those experiences. This is becoming an important area of study and highlights the need for trauma-informed and neuroaffirming support.

Holding space for their stories,
their resilience,
and the experiences that often remain unseen.

Does your child struggle with loud noises, clothing textures, busy environments, or big emotional reactions?

You might be seeing sensory processing differences.

Independent Milestones is now offering a Sensory Profile Telehealth Package to help parents better understand their child’s sensory needs and learn practical ways to support them.

Please note: Not every child requires a sensory profile. If, during the process, your Occupational Therapist determines that a sensory profile is not clinically necessary, alternative recommendations and guidance will be provided to ensure you still receive helpful support and direction.

✨ Have you met Leish? ✨

Maybe you have met Leish before, perhaps she was supporting your child with Allied Health Assistant support. Well, we have exciting news! Leish has now stepped into the Practice Manager role at Independent Milestones.

Leish brings a wealth of experience working with children, along with her warm, compassionate and supportive approach. In her new role, she will be working behind the scenes to help keep everything running smoothly for our therapists and families.

We are so excited to see Leish take on this new role and continue supporting our community 💙
