If you've been living with a concern around your eyelids, your abdomen, or excess skin following weight loss, and you're not sure what your options actually are, a consultation is where that gets answered properly.

You don't need to have made a decision before booking. Most people haven't. The purpose of this appointment is to work out, together, whether surgery is something worth considering for your specific anatomy, and what that would actually involve for you.

Dr Luo takes the time to understand the concern itself before any conversation about procedures happens. There's no obligation attached to a first consultation, and no pressure to proceed afterward.
If this is something you've been thinking about, book a consultation to start the conversation.

It's easy to think of a surgeon's knowledge as something fixed, earned once through training and then simply applied from there. In practice, it's closer to an ongoing habit than a finished qualification.

A meaningful part of that is quieter than people expect. Reviewing your own outcomes honestly, including the ones that didn't go quite as planned, and adjusting technique in response. Reading new research rather than relying on what was taught a decade ago. Talking through complex, non-identifying cases with other surgeons, because a second perspective on a difficult decision is genuinely useful, not a sign of uncertainty.

Dr Luo treats this as ordinary, ongoing work, not a separate achievement to point to. It's part of what happens between consultations, well before any surgical plan is put in front of a patient.

Book a consultation to discuss your concerns.

Coming in after a previous surgical experience that didn't go the way you'd hoped is a different starting point to a first consultation, and it's treated that way.

Dr Luo begins by understanding exactly what was done previously, requesting operative notes where they're available, and assessing how the area has healed. Scar tissue and altered anatomy from a prior procedure change what's technically possible, which is why revision surgery is often a more complex undertaking than the original operation, not a simpler one.
Timing also matters more here than people often expect. Tissue can continue to settle and change for months, sometimes longer, after any surgical procedure, and operating again too early can make it harder to achieve a stable, predictable result.

What this consultation is not is a promise to fix or improve on a previous outcome. Some cases are well suited to revision. Others aren't, and that's discussed honestly, including when the most appropriate next step is no further surgery at all.

If you're considering a revision consultation, book an appointment to discuss your history and your options.

Facial asymmetry gets treated online like something to diagnose and fix, when in reality almost everyone has some degree of it.

Skulls don't grow perfectly evenly, and neither does soft tissue, muscle use, or skin ageing, so small differences between the left and right side of the face are the norm rather than the exception.

What varies is how noticeable it is, and whether it's something a person actually wants to address. Some asymmetry is structural and present from a young age. Some develops gradually, through changes in fat distribution, muscle use, or skin laxity over time. Occasionally it relates to prior injury or jaw development.

Dr Luo assesses facial asymmetry the same way he assesses any concern, by identifying what's actually contributing to it anatomically, rather than assuming a single cause or a single fix. In many cases, no treatment is needed at all.

If facial asymmetry is something you'd like to understand better, book a consultation to discuss it.

"Personalised" gets used loosely in this industry, so it's worth being specific about what it actually means here.

Dr Luo's training didn't stop at general plastic surgery. A craniofacial fellowship in Taipei meant learning to read facial bone, muscle and soft tissue as separate, interacting layers, the kind of detail that matters enormously in eyelid and facial assessment but isn't always taught in depth elsewhere.

His training extended across Taiwan, Korea, Malaysia and Singapore, built specifically around anatomical variation: eyelid structure without a natural crease, differences in nasal cartilage and skin thickness, and differences in facial bone proportion, so that this variation is factored into the assessment from the outset, rather than worked around afterward.

The same structural thinking carries into abdominal assessment: distinguishing skin, muscle separation and fat as genuinely separate issues, because treating them as one blurs the plan you actually need.

None of this is about a signature look or a standard technique. It's about a way of assessing anatomy that was built through specific, additional training, and it shows up in every consultation.

Book a consultation to have your own anatomy properly assessed.

These are some of the questions we get asked most, and honestly, we think they're worth asking. Choosing a surgeon is a significant decision, and you shouldn’t have to go digging to find the answers.

A quick note on qualifications, since it comes up a lot: "plastic surgeon" and "cosmetic surgeon" aren't interchangeable titles in Australia. A specialist plastic surgeon has completed accredited surgical training specifically in plastic and reconstructive surgery. It's a fair question to ask any practitioner you're considering, and a good one to bring to your first consultation.

That first consultation is really just a conversation. We want to hear your concerns, understand your history, and talk honestly about what's suitable for you, nothing is assumed going in.

Got a question that isn't answered here? Send us a message, or better yet, book a consultation and ask us directly.

Craniofacial fellowship training isn't something every plastic surgeon undertakes, and it's a useful thing to understand if you're considering facial surgery specifically. It involves an intensive focus on the bone, muscle and soft tissue structures of the face and skull, often working on complex congenital and reconstructive cases before ever applying that knowledge to aesthetic surgery.

That's the background Dr Luo brings to consultations involving facial anatomy, eyelid surgery, and asymmetry, alongside his broader training in body contouring and abdominal wall surgery through his general plastic surgery fellowship in Perth and Sydney.

His time volunteering with Mercy Ships, Samaritan's Purse and Operation Smile, and his role establishing a reconstructive surgery fellowship program in Kenya, sit outside his cosmetic practice, but reflect the same underlying training in complex reconstructive work.

None of this replaces a proper assessment of your own anatomy and concerns. What it does is give you a clearer picture of the training behind that assessment.

Book a consultation with Dr Luo to discuss your concerns.

Every face and body tells a different story, which is why we don't believe in one-size-fits-all. Whatever brought you here, we want to understand what's actually going on for you first: your anatomy, your history, what you're hoping for.

Facial procedures like blepharoplasty and rhinoplasty start with a close look at the layers involved. Breast and abdominal procedures take your tissue and your goals into account. And Dr Luo's training in Asian aesthetics means anatomical differences that general training can miss are properly understood from the start.
A consultation isn't a sales pitch. Sometimes the right answer is a non-surgical option, or simply more time to think.

We'd love to have that conversation with you. Book a consultation.

Lower blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure that addresses changes in the under-eye area.

Over time, fat can shift and skin can loosen, which may contribute to puffiness, shadows, lower eyelid bags, or a tired appearance. Lower blepharoplasty is designed to treat these changes by adjusting fat, tightening skin where appropriate, and improving the contour of the lower eyelid and lid-cheek junction.

Depending on the anatomy assessed, fat may be repositioned or removed, and skin may also be addressed as part of the procedure. In some patients, this can also improve the appearance of shadowing or darker discolouration around the lower eyelids.

Incisions are usually placed just below the lash line or inside the eyelid, depending on the surgical plan. The procedure may be performed under general anaesthesia or local anaesthetic, depending on the approach and the individual case.

When patients ask whether they need an eyelid lift or a brow lift, the answer is not always straightforward.

Although these procedures are often discussed together, they address different areas. An eyelid lift works directly on the eyelids, usually by removing excess skin and, in some cases, adjusting deeper tissues. A brow lift addresses the brow and forehead region, where sagging can contribute to upper eyelid heaviness.

This distinction matters because what appears to be an eyelid concern may not always originate there. In some patients, brow sagging is a significant factor. In others, the main issue is excess upper eyelid skin. There are also cases where both areas may need to be considered together as part of the surgical plan.

Therefore, a proper assessment of the upper face is crucial. The aim is not simply to choose between two procedures, but to understand which structure is contributing most to the patient's concern.
