Do I hold or do I fold? It's been the battle I've been having with the board (me, myself and I) for the past 6 weeks. It's no secret that the cost of diesel is now hellish for a small solo business like mine.
What do I do?
For now I am holding, but I can't do it without shuffling the cards. I haven't put up my prices for nearly 4 years. I have always trusted in the God-economy (loaves and fishes mentality) which out-trumps those morons in power who think they are some sorts of gods and have the right to manipulate our lives. It's okay, they'll ultimately lose.
However, to hold, my hand has been forced by the current extenuating circumstances and my prices are increasing to $95 per hour if I work solo and $135 per hour if I need to employ a second pair of hands.
I sincerely apologise if this prices anyone out of using my services. This is a permanent price rise, not temporary (PTL says my accountant). It is too hard to play the levy/surcharge game as it is too unpredictable. I hope you understand and thank you for your continued support.
