Coffee or tea before a busy day?

Favourite holiday destination?
"Somewhere warm by the beach"

Favourite exercise to prescribe?

Remedial massage is the assessment and treatment of sore or injured soft tissues, including muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissue. The aim is to reduce pain, restore function and support your body's recovery.

While physiotherapists assess, diagnose and develop treatment plans for injuries and conditions, remedial massage therapists focus specifically on treating soft tissue dysfunction through hands-on therapy. The two services can work together to help you move and feel your best.

Benefits of remedial massage include:
✔️ Targeted pain relief and management
✔️ Support for injury recovery and rehabilitation
✔️ Improved mobility and flexibility
✔️ Greater body awareness and connection (embodiment)
✔️ Enhanced mental and emotional wellbeing

Our remedial massage therapist Ange, holds a Diploma of Remedial Massage and maintains membership with a recognised professional association. This not only allows eligible clients to claim private health fund rebates but also ensures high professional standards and ongoing continuing professional education

If you're looking to reduce pain, improve movement or complement your physiotherapy treatment, remedial massage could be a great addition to your care.

✨ Meet the Team ✨

Please join us in welcoming Angela, our new Remedial Massage Therapist to PCB!

Ange has been working as a remedial massage therapist since qualifying in 2023 and is a member of the Massage & Myotherapy Association. Formerly a swim instructor and lifeguard, she enjoys being in and on the water or out in nature. Swimming, kayaking, riding, bushwalking and gardening are all activities that fill her weekends.

Get to know Ange:

What are you most looking forward to when working at PCB?
"I'm looking forward to working at PCB so that I can be mentored, access the facilities and work together toward the best outcomes for our clients."

Coffee or tea before a busy day?
"I'm a diehard coffee drinker, it's an addiction. I always get up half an hour earlier in the morning to drink my coffee peacefully."

Favourite way to unwind after work/on the weekend?
Weekends see me out in the bush, exploring the beautiful nature of Victoria. I live surrounded by state forest and after every rain I wander I hope I trip over a gold nugget. So far no luck!"

Favourite holiday destination?
"Once the weather warms up I'll be using the longer days to swim and kayak in the Loddon River. I hope to one day do the Murray River by kayak too. Until then, laps at the pool, a sauna and spa will do."

Favourite local Bendigo café or spot?
"The Bayleaf for a delicious, healthy salad, arancini and excellent coffee."

We're thrilled to have Ange on board and to expand the services available here at PCB.

Menopause can affect much more than hot flushes.

As oestrogen levels decline during perimenopause and menopause, many women experience changes in their muscles, tendons, bones and pelvic floor. These hormonal changes can contribute to reduced muscle mass and strength, an increased risk of tendinopathy (such as gluteal, Achilles or elbow pain), joint aches, and make exercise feel more challenging than it once did.

At the same time, many women notice pelvic health symptoms such as bladder leakage, vaginal dryness, pelvic organ prolapse, urinary urgency or discomfort with intimacy. While these symptoms are common, they are not something you simply have to "put up with."

Many women don't realise that these physical changes and symptoms may be linked to menopause rather than simply ageing or overuse.

The good news is that support is available.

Our physiotherapists can help you manage muscle and joint pain, improve strength, maintain bone health and keep you active through tailored exercise and rehabilitation. Our pelvic health physiotherapists provide specialised assessment and treatment for concerns including incontinence, vaginal dryness, prolapse and other pelvic floor symptoms, helping you return to the activities you enjoy with confidence.

If you're experiencing new or worsening symptoms during perimenopause or menopause, it's always a good idea to speak with your GP.

You don't have to navigate these changes alone, call us on 5442 5440 to book with a regular or pelvic health physio

Winter can make it tempting to slow down, but staying active is one of the best things you can do for your body during the colder months.

Regular movement helps maintain strength, mobility, joint health, circulation, and energy levels. Whether it’s a walk, gym session, stretching, or simply staying consistent with daily activity, it all adds up.

If the colder weather makes outdoor exercise less appealing, indoor options like Pilates can be a great way to keep moving, build strength, and stay consistent through winter. And for those wanting something low-impact, our hydrotherapy pool stays warm and toasty all year round.
