A significant moment in women’s health.

As of today (12/05/2026), PCOS has officially been renamed PMOS – Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome following publication in The Lancet after many years of global collaboration between healthcare professionals and people living with the condition.

The new name better reflects the complex hormonal, metabolic and reproductive features of the condition and moves away from the often misleading term “ovarian cysts”.

As someone who has personally lived with this condition, works in women’s health, and contributed feedback during this process, I couldn’t be more excited to see this change. The metabolic component is such a significant part of the struggle for so many women, and it deserves to be recognised.

This change is about more than a name — it’s about improving awareness, understanding, diagnosis, care and validation for millions of women worldwide.

At the Epicentre of Robotic Surgery 🤖✨
Two incredible days in Texas observing world-class robotic gynaecological surgery with Dr Devin Garza — witnessing precision, innovation, and humility at their best.

Watching him operate was truly inspiring. His calm confidence, attention to detail, and generosity in teaching stood out in every case. I had the chance to see complex endometriosis surgery, myomectomies, hysterectomies, and ureteric dissections — all performed robotically with remarkable finesse and clarity.

What amazed me most was how normalised robotic surgery has become here — one hospital, seven robots, and teams performing these procedures every single day. The vision, precision, and patient outcomes are extraordinary.

Feeling grateful and energised to keep expanding my knowledge and experience in this space — the future is robotic surgery, and there’s no going back. 💪✨

✨ Two full days of learning at the ASRM meeting ✨

Day 1 — Recurrent Miscarriages 💔
Day 2 — Precision Medicine in ovarian stimulation and managing women 40 and over🌿

It’s always so inspiring to hear perspectives from specialists across the world — and also reassuring to see that what we practice is already among the best standards of care globally.

But the beauty of these meetings is that there’s always something new to learn — a different viewpoint, a new study, or even a subtle clinical pearl that changes how you think. 💡

The evidence in women who are 40 and over remains one of the most challenging and controversial areas in reproductive medicine. The cohort is complex, and trials need such high power that proving (or disproving) anything is never simple and we will continue trying to find answers for recurrent miscarriages and help reduce them.

Still, there’s progress, debate, and innovation — and that’s what keeps us all learning, evolving, and doing better for our patients every day. 💫

🌟 Robotic Surgery for Gynaecology – The Next Chapter! 🌟

I’m thrilled to share that I am completing training in robotic-assisted hysterectomy and robotic surgery for endometriosis. This advanced, minimally invasive option means less pain, quicker recovery, and excellent outcomes for women.

At this stage, the service will be available at St John of God Bendigo—a milestone that feels very special for our patients and our community.

This has been made possible only by the vision, progressive thinking, and incredible teamwork around me. I’m truly grateful - it takes a whole village to make change like this happen 🙏

A heartfelt thank you also goes to our patients, for trusting in the process and walking this journey with us. 💜
