So who actually needs accredited height safety training?
If a worker puts on a harness to protect against a fall, they need adequate training. That covers roof work, working from a boom lift, scaffolding, and climbing a fixed ladder fitted with a fall arrestor.
If the fall protection is built in and no harness is used, they do not. Working behind handrails, inside edge protection, or climbing a caged ladder does not require the accredited unit. Those workers still need to be trained in the safe system of work, which is where our Height Safety Awareness session fits.
Safe Work Training runs RIIWHS204E Work safely at heights as a one day course at our Bendigo training centre, with practical assessment on an actual roof using harnesses, lanyards, anchor points and fall arrest systems. Competent students receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment. We also deliver on site across regional Victoria.
