SwanCare

SwanCare Caring for WA seniors since 1961, SwanCare is a full service not-for-profit aged care community.

The first residents embraced SwanCare living (then known as Swan Cottage Homes) in 1961, shaping the future of the not-for-profit and registered charity, which has become one of Western Australia’s leading providers of quality retirement living and aged care. More than 1,000 residents call SwanCare’s Bentley Park home, residing in one of four aged care centres or in the vibrant retirement living c

ommunity. The 15 hectare site is WA’s largest all-in-one retirement and aged care campus, including SwanCare at Home and services such as cafes, hairdressers, doctors, grocery store, and a leisure precinct with gym, pool, bowling green, and more. SwanCare also operates Australind Rise, a boutique retirement village situated by the Leschenault Inlet, only 1.5 hours south of Perth. The tight knit community enjoys social catch ups and quiet leisure facilities. SwanCare offers an engaging community and endeavours to enrich the lives of their residents. The company strives to provide a caring community where every person feels safe and has the freedom and choice to live the life they desire.

Strike a pose, there’s nothing to it… vogue ✨

Cue the runway magic at Bentley Park, where style met sparkle in the most delightful way. A huge shoutout to the fabulous team at Kimbo's Fashions and the SwanCare Centres Auxiliary for bringing the glam and a whole lot of heart.

Our stunning resident models lit up the room, serving looks that were equal parts chic, cosy and confidence-boosting. Think vibrant colours, effortlessly stylish pieces and comfort that doesn’t compromise on flair.

Proof that great style has no age limit and retirement is just another excuse to look fabulous 💃

🚲 Happy World Bicycle Day

Today we celebrate the bicycle as a simple, sustainable and inclusive way to stay active and connected.

At SwanCare, we are proud of our long-standing partnership with Cycling Without Age - Perth, bringing weekly rides to our residential aged care residents across our campus. For those who can no longer cycle independently, these rides offer something truly special - a chance to get outdoors, reminisce, socialise and reconnect with the world around them.

It is a partnership built on community, connection and the belief that age is no barrier to experiencing joy and freedom.

Our residents look forward to these rides each week and the smiles say it all. If you spot Cycling Without Age out and about in the wider community, be sure to say hello. You might even be invited along for the ride.

Because at SwanCare, movement, connection and community belong to everyone.

Sweet melodies 🎶

SwanCare’s Allsorts Choir has been spreading their sweet melodies through our residential aged care centres over the past couple of weeks, warming hearts, lifting spirits and possibly inspiring a few spontaneous dance wiggles in chairs.

You can always count on a toe tapping tune and plenty of smiles when our Allsorts Choir gets together.

Keep an eye out in the next edition of Bentley Park Bulletin for details of the SwanCare Allsorts Choir's village performance in June… trust us, you won’t want to miss the show!

At SwanCare, we have a staff member recognition program, Feathers, that allows us to celebrate the hard work and commitment of our team. Every month, winners receive Feathers points that can be accumulated to redeem items from our online prize catalogue.

And on that note, we are delighted to congratulate our Feathers winner for April, our Laundry Supervisor from SwanCare Hospitality Services, Cathy Tomkinson!

Cathy was nominated for her Compassion by going above and beyond for a resident - personally repairing a favourite pair of shorts in her own time after a button was lost. It’s thoughtful acts like these that make a meaningful difference every day.

Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is so much more than a fundraiser for Cancer Council. It’s about communities coming together, connecting, sharing and supporting one another.

That spirit was on full display this week at SwanCare Australind Rise and Bentley Park.

On Tuesday, Australind Rise hosted their 11th annual Biggest Morning Tea, raising an incredible $4,527 through raffles, auctions and stalls. Hailey from Solaris Cancer Care spoke about the profound impact cancer can have, not only on individuals but on those around them, and highlighted the incredible support services Solaris provides.

Then on Thursday, Bentley Park continued the momentum. This year marked Bruce and Dianne’s fifth and final year organising BMT@BP, and what a legacy they leave. With a vibrant stall, popular raffles and a beautiful morning tea enjoyed by a packed auditorium, the event was made even more meaningful by guest speaker Bella, who shared her journey with bone cancer which started at just 16.

Bentley Park is still finalising donations, with an estimated $3,000 raised so far.
Year after year, both communities show the power of generosity, connection and care. These events are a true reflection of what can be achieved when people come together for a shared cause.

Congratulations to everyone involved and thank you for your continued support.

🌼 It’s World Bee Day 🐝

Join us as we take a moment today to appreciate the tiny powerhouses sustaining our global ecosystem.

Pollinators like bees fertilise around one-third of the food we eat and nearly 90% of wild flowering plants 🌸🌻

Without them, our food systems and biodiversity would look very different.
Yet bee populations face growing pressures from habitat loss, pesticide use, climate change and parasites.

Bees don’t just ensure food security, they help keep our natural world thriving and they’re a joy to watch as they go about their work 🐝✨

So next time you see a bee, pause, observe and give it the space it needs to keep doing what it does best.

Behind every strong community are the people you don’t always see. 👀
The early risers setting up, the quiet organisers keeping things moving, the helpers who step in without being asked and the friendly faces who make everyone feel welcome.

From ticket sales and food preparation, driving buses or buggies in all sorts of weather to decorating and coordinating stalls, our volunteers dedicate countless hours creating the vibrant communities our residents call home.

They don’t do it for recognition. They do it because they care.

It’s National Volunteer Week and this year’s theme is “Your Year to Volunteer”. Today we’re shining a light on our unsung volunteers - the heart, the hands and the spirit that bring our community together every single day.

If you find yourself with a little spare time and would like to give back, reach out to a club or group that resonates with you. Many hands make light work.

If you know one, thank one. If you are one, we see you. 👏
Happy National Volunteer Week.
