Apologies to the patient I kept waiting today when one of my staff needed help to catch this gorgeous girl (NOT Bailey sadly), but still needing to get home. She was nice and muddy after a dip in a creek, but microchip checked at Andrew Morgan Vet, and should be happy at home after her big adventure.

Why I opened my independent Optometry practice. The corporatisation of Optometry has led to reduced patient care, as described in articles released this week by major newspapers.
A proper eye exam takes time. Big optometry chains are forcing their optometrists to work under conditions that severely compromise patient care. I’ve experienced it myself, and I’ll never go back to testing under those conditions.

THIS is why I opened Berowra Eye Studio. David Hendry and I, Nicky Dayton, have always put patient health and thorough eye care above all else while practicing optometry. Sadly, the corporatisation of our industry has compromised optometrists ability to do this.
When EyeQ was sold to the owners of OPSM, mentioned in this article, we felt the need to move in order to keep caring for this community’s eyecare needs the way we always have.
I’m so grateful to everyone who is supporting us in this journey. I’m not a risk taker, so this move was huge for me, but I needed to practice the way I know optometry should be practiced.
