Lost a burr down the sink mid-appointment?

Order any clipper over $70 before Monday 5 October and choose a free burr to go with it.

Third patient of the afternoon, and the waiting room is filling up. You reach for your burr a bit too fast. It slips off the tray and straight down the sink.

Now there's a patient on the table, two more waiting, and no spare in the drawer.

Burrs rarely wear out. They go missing. Down the sink, into the wrong drawer, gone between appointments.

So you reorder the one you always use, and you never get round to asking which burr would suit your work best.

Here's your reason to find out. Diamond, ceramic or carbide, whichever you like. No code needed.

If you've been meaning to try ceramic, this is the easy way to do it.

Offer ends Monday 5 October.

A nipper that won't open smoothly usually isn't blunt. It's dirty somewhere you can't see.

Most clinics run instruments through an ultrasonic cleaner between uses. Good practice.

But detergent residue builds up inside the hinge over hundreds of cycles.

The hinge starts sticking. The clipper feels wrong in the hand.

And the edge gets blamed for a problem the edge never caused.

It's one of four services listed on our site.

Sharpening and refurbish
Spring replacement
Fixing tips
Loosening a stuck hinge

Built to be resharpened, not replaced.

Burrs are the thing every clinic runs out of halfway through a list.

Never the clippers.
Never the files.

Always the burrs.

They go down the sink. They get lost in sterilisation pouches. They wear faster than anything else in the room because they do more work than anything else in the room.

Which makes them the one consumable worth having a system for.

Our range:

✅Burrs: diamond, carbide, ceramic
✅ Blacks nail files
✅ Foot rasps

Sized for the work you actually do, rather than whatever the general medical catalogue had left over.

We have been sharpening and remaking podiatry instruments since 1975, so the range is built around what clinics genuinely wear through, not what fills a page.

Consumables should never be the reason a clinic day slows down.

Trade accounts get standing pricing, so reordering stops being a Friday afternoon panic.

Trade pricing on request. Details in the comments.

One thing we are curious about. How many burrs does your clinic actually get through in a month? We see the ones that come back, but not the ones that quietly disappear.

A sharp edge on a loose joint feels sharp for about a fortnight.

Then it doesn't.

Here's what's actually going on. When a nipper stops cutting, most people assume the edge has gone. Usually it hasn't.

The joint has.

Years of use, or a few months of levering on a thick nail, and the box joint opens up a fraction. The blades stop meeting and start passing each other.

So the nail tears instead of cutting. Two squeezes where you used to need one.

Send that straight to a sharpener and you get a beautiful edge back on a loose tool. It feels sharp again for a couple of weeks.

Then it's exactly where it started, and most clinics conclude the instrument is finished.

It isn't. It was never resharpened properly in the first place.

Here's the order that actually works.

1️⃣ Joint first.
2️⃣ Spring and tip second.
3️⃣ Edge last.

The edge only holds if it has something rigid to sit in. Skip the first two steps and you're sharpening a wobble.

We check all three on everything that comes across this bench, any brand, before we touch a stone.

If something in your drawer went blunt again fast after its last sharpen, that's probably why.

Send it in and I'll tell you straight whether it's the joint, and whether it's worth fixing.
