Recovering from prostate surgery isn't a straight line โ€” that's why we built a structured program to support you through every stage of your prostate cancer recovery ๐Ÿ’™

The program runs in three phases:

๐ŸŸฆ Prepare
Understand what to expect after surgery, learn to activate your pelvic floor muscles, and set yourself up with the strongest possible foundation before you even begin ๐ŸŒฟ

๐ŸŸฉ Recover
Work on regaining bladder control, restoring pelvic floor function, and managing urinary leakage โ€” with expert guidance every step of the way โœจ

๐ŸŸง Rebuild
Build back your strength and fitness through supervised exercise, get guided support returning to the activities you love, and rebuild lasting confidence ๐Ÿ’ช

No two recoveries look the same, which is why your program is shaped around your individual goals and stage of healing. With evidence-based physiotherapy and genuine ongoing support, we're here to help you move forward with confidence ๐Ÿ’œ

Whether you're preparing for a prostatectomy or already on the road to recovery, we'd love to support you.

Shout out to SPC Physios Giulia and Cherie, taking on the City to Surf this weekend! Pictured here with Jess Brown at the finish line after hitting the road in this fabulous event.

The evidence is clear: regular movement supports pelvic health, bladder control and overall wellbeing โ€” movement really is medicine. ๐Ÿ’™

However you like to move โ€” walking, swimming, yoga or a jog around the block โ€” your pelvic floor benefits too. Small steps, big benefits โœจ

Gold for the SPC Ninja Mums! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’ช

Congratulations to our SPC Ninja Mums, who took home the gold medal in last week's 5-a-side futsal competition with a hard-fought 6โ€“3 win over the talented Gold Diggers ๐Ÿ†

Who knew chasing a soccer ball around with your friends could bring so much joy? โœจ

Movement doesn't have to be perfectโ€”it just has to be enjoyable. Whether it's futsal, walking, dancing, swimming or simply getting outside, finding ways to move that make you smile is what matters ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ’œ

A huge congratulations to Laila! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ’œ

We're so excited to celebrate Laila Harrity, our incredible Physiotherapy Assistant and exercise class teacher at Sydney Pelvic Clinic, on graduating with a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS)! โœจ

Laila brings so much enthusiasm, kindness and knowledge to every class she teaches ๐Ÿ’™. She has a wonderful ability to make our clients feel supported, encouraged and confident as they work towards their health goals. Continuous learning is one of the ways Sydney Pelvic Clinic strives to deliver the highest standard of care.

Dr Angela James and Giulia Casson recently attended the AGES & UGSA Conference in Melbourne, joining leading gynaecologists, urogynaecologists and pelvic health professionals to explore the latest evidence and advances in womenโ€™s pelvic health.

A couple of themes stood out.

๐Ÿ’™ The best outcomes come from truly multidisciplinary, biopsychosocial careโ€”bringing together the right expertise, at the right time, for the right patient.

๐Ÿ’™ There is growing recognition of the important role of prehabilitation and rehabilitation surrounding urogynaecological surgery. Preparing before surgery, then recovering and rebuilding with structured support, has the potential to improve patient outcomes and confidence throughout the surgical journey.

These conversations reinforced the direction Sydney Pelvic Clinic has been taking for many yearsโ€”delivering evidence-informed, person-centred care as part of a collaborative healthcare team.

As the evidence continues to evolve, so do we.

Weโ€™re excited to be expanding our structured prehabilitation and rehabilitation pathways to further support women before and after pelvic surgery.

Stay tuned as we share more in the coming months. ๐Ÿ’™
