I have really enjoyed developing this program. As my son gets closer to 18 (next birthday - I know right) I am very invested in supporting other kids with significant support needs to getting the help and vibe they need.

Barefoot’s Transition to Adulthood Program including OT reports for NDIS relating to functional capacity and independent living were discussed widely at the expo today.

Our program helps kids who are leaving the support of the school system and/or young adults who need significant help to navigate life in adult services and lifestyles both with adapting, learning skills and having assessments and reports for funding and referrals.

This year I am taking a deep dive into Modron and folklore around the Celtic Mother Goddess. I often find something spiritual to guide my life or seek meaning from how I am and how I live.

The inspiration for this came from ceremonies at The Melbourne Grove where Druids meet. I am so grateful for having anchors like this that can guide personal and work endeavours in a time of digitalisation and AI. A time where authentic lives with dirt under the fingernails are starting to hold significance beyond the screen.

I love to offer teaching that is richly authentic and steeped in ancient reality and intuition. I also believe in walking the walk. While I have sometimes been nervous about sharing this side of my life, I now believe it is more important than ever to embrace ancient wisdom and nature based ways of life.

This guides me while I stay in an informed and evidence based clinical practice to integrate them for rich experiences for my animal assisted and nature based therapy students and supervisees. I love working with like minded professionals and also helping people at the start of a more spiritual personal or professional path.

NEW PROGRAM - Join experienced animal & equine assisted therapist, educator, clinical supervisor and mentor, Sarah Munn, AHPRA registered occupational therapist. Sarah runs a multi disciplinary therapy & learning team focusing on paediatrics and mental health, neurodivergence and trauma. Sarah has run clinic and farm based services for 14 years making this a rare opportunity to learn from a leader in the sector.

This is an individual and bespoke program where you learn to navigate getting started in equine or animal assisted therapy or learning. Or if you have already started but need to write pouches, procedures and check into evidence based or trauma informed practice this is also valuable.

Usually delivered over 10 weeks for an intense and goal focused experience, this program can also be run over a year if you need longer to work on things in between sessions or prefer a payment plan and course delivery over a longer time frame.

Even if you want to include some animal practice and also use outdoor spaces, nature and gardening this is the program for you. Understand scope of practice and how to integrate your core skills and techniques to include horses, other animals, horticulture and nature. Get all the help you need to get on the right track and secure insurances required to start with clients and grade your own professional development and support in the sector.

So many psychotherapists are counsellors by background, but many are also OT’s. I certainly learned it as an undergraduate and have it as an approach in my repertoire of mental health clinical skills. Among others, because psychotherapy isn’t always the best approach. But great to see it being written about.
