Serving exceptional coffee with a purpose, the Cup of Kindness Café brews more than just beans; we are making a difference in the lives of people with a disability. The Cup of Kindness Café is a supportive workplace where people with a disability gain confidence,

skills and meaningful employment. The Cup of Kindness Café is located on the main street of the Lake Macquarie suburb of Boolaroo. Open daily from 7am to 4pm, the café proudly serves locally roasted Crema Coffee Garage beans and Bondi Chai, alongside fresh, delicious food, all crafted with care by our incredible team of supported staff.

Senior Thrive Academy students recently participated in an informative and engaging session with Support Solutions at Boolaroo, where they gained valuable insight into the services and supports available within their local community.
Students were warmly welcomed by Irene (Operations Manager) and Brady (Café Manager), who outlined the services offered by Support Solutions and responded to any questions students had throughout the session. After the session, students dined in the Cup of Kindness Café, providing them with an opportunity to see and experience a supported employment setting firsthand.
We would like to thank Support Solutions for the opportunity to connect and for their generous hospitality.

This is what supported employment really looks like.

his role at our NDIS-funded café, Josh hasn’t just built job skills. He’s built confidence, independence, and the ability to plan for his future.

Every shift worked helped him save for something that is out of reach for so many: a trip to Japan 🇯🇵

Supported employment isn’t about “keeping busy.”
It’s about meaningful work, real wages, and real choice.

And sometimes… it looks like boarding a plane.✈️
