‘Don’t Forget To Look Up’ is the title of this spectacular quilt on display at Boonah Arts Society Inc / Boonah Regional Art Gallery

A keen art enthusiast Mr E is always keen to try and keep up with what’s happening in the area - this quilt was his favourite as it conveys a very strong message 💙

Slowing down, observing what is around us, and developing a genuine appreciation for the natural world.

Today we were having so much fun at our morning activity session down at The Boonah Community Drop In Center, that we totally forgot to take photos of our creations - this week the crew started making lolly jars …. But! We do have photos of some fantastic aprons made by Ms C🤩

Ms C turned up this week with handmade craft aprons for everyone - she is a whiz with a needle and thread and wanted her Wednesday morning craft buddies to all have aprons - how wonderful are they !?

Some lovely friendships have developed at our Wednesday craft sessions and today seeing Ms C come through the door with hand sewn gifts for everyone really made our day 🌻

Today we are celebrating International Assistance Dog week 🐾

As dedicated animals lovers we know the benefits that any animal can provide to anyone - physically, mentally and emotionally …. Assistance Dogs though are in a league of their own - trained professionals when it comes to guiding, assisting and providing crucial alerts to people living with a disability.

Thankyou to the trainers, breeders and the four legged heroes 🙏🤩🦮

QDN celebrated Assistance Dog Day (4 August). International Assistance Dog Week is from 3 August – 9 August and shines a light on service dogs and their trainers.

The impact these highly trained canines have on the lives of people with disability is life changing. From guiding people who are blind or have low vision, to alerting to medical emergencies, these dogs perform essential tasks that foster independence and companionship.

Guide Dogs Australia is one of the organisations that are training assistance dogs in Queensland. Click on the following link to see their activities:
