August 7th is Aged Care Employee Day, a time to recognise the incredible people who support older Queenslanders across our state.

From our support workers and drivers to our customer care coordinators and clinical teams behind the scenes, their daily commitment keeps our community connected, safe, and supported.

Aged care is so much more than a service, it is about building real relationships and ensuring every client feels valued and cared for. We couldn't be prouder of the genuine impact our team makes in the lives of seniors every day.

Join us in saying a huge thank you to the team members who give so much to our community. Leave a message of appreciation or share a kind word for our aged care employees in the comments below! ❤️

A first aid kit is only useful if it’s fully stocked and ready when you need it.

You don’t always need a brand-new kit to stay prepared! Simply replacing missing or used items keeps your family and workplace compliant, safe, and protected.

Check your kit today and restock individual items here: https://shop.stjohn.org.au/pages/restock-your-kit

Heading to the Ekka from 8th–16th August? Come visit our stall in the middle level of the Agriculture Education Pavilion! You can chat with our team, pick up individual refills, or buy a fresh first aid kit in person.

What a festive time we had celebrating Christmas in July across Queensland!

For our CHSP clients, these mid-year gatherings are a major highlight on the calendar. From Aspley in Brisbane to Childers in Wide Bay, the atmosphere was filled with wonderful food, brilliant company, and plenty of festive laughs.

Events like these are at the heart of our community services, giving our older community members a fantastic reason to get out, catch up with friends, and stay connected.

A massive thank you to everyone who joined us and brought so much energy and festive spirit to the table! Bringing people together, sharing a meal, and making lasting memories is what our team loves most.

This Loneliness Awareness Week, we challenge you to check in on someone!

Loneliness isn’t always easy to see, but its impact on our older community members is incredibly real. A long week can feel even longer when you don't have anyone to share it with.

That’s why our challenge to you this Loneliness Week is simple: go visit someone. Whether it’s an old friend, a neighbour down the street, or a family member you haven't seen in a while - a quick chat, a cup of tea, or just showing up can completely turn their week around.

Help us fight loneliness and isolation in our communities this week and beyond.

Happy World Friendship Day! ❤️

Today, we’re shining a light on our incredible volunteers and the wonderful older Queenslanders they visit through the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS).

The ACVVS program was designed with a simple, powerful goal: to build genuine, real, lasting friendships that tackle social isolation head-on.

Whether it's over a cup of tea, a board game, or a walk through the garden, these intergenerational connections bring joy, laughter, and a deep sense of friendship and belonging to both our volunteers and residents.

👉 Want to give back and make a friend for life? Join our ACVVS volunteer program today:
