World Autism Awareness Day – April 2

At Good Choice Supports, World Autism Awareness Day is about more than awareness — it’s about understanding, acceptance, and genuine inclusion.

People with autism experience and interact with the world in many different ways. These differences are not something to be “fixed”; they are a natural part of human diversity. Every autistic person has their own strengths, challenges, interests, and communication styles, and support should always reflect that individuality.

At Good Choice Supports, we focus on listening first. We work alongside autistic participants to provide support that is respectful, flexible, and tailored — whether that’s building daily living skills, accessing the community, or creating environments where people feel safe to be themselves.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide daily living support to clients, including personal care, mobility assistance, and community participation.

Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and their families.

Assist with medication administration and daily documentation.

Promote client independence and well-being.

Requirements:

Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent).

Valid Working with Children Check and Police Check.

Current First Aid and CPR certification.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
