I took a case a few months ago. I prescribed Sepia, which seemed like a good match. It took away her chief complaint almost immediately. We were so happy! However, the pain came back (possibly antidoted by chiro or coffee), so we re-dosed. Again, it took away the pains, but other complaints remained.
We removed antidotes (coffee and chiro) and waited to see if the body could rebalance itself.
Then, we had a follow-up where she shared deeper mental/ emotional pathology about self confidence, etc.
NOW, with mentals in the picture, I could see another remedy more clearly. I prescribed Lycopodium. Interestingly, it's complementary to Sepia .
She's had clear improvement again with her chief complaint, which is a good sign. Now we just need to wait and see if the mentals also ameliorate - they're more important than the physical symptoms.
Sharing this as an example of how similar remedies can confuse the issue- only helping with some of the symptoms but not really fixing anything.
It's too early to tell if our second remedy was the similimum, but we'll see...
