🏡 Support at home, from a team you know and trust.

The smiles in these photos really do say it all. Our clients and care workers enjoy sharing a laugh, a chat and genuine companionship, while supporting people to remain independent in their own homes.

Murroona Gardens Support at Home is community-owned and not-for-profit. Our experienced local care workers and skilled nursing team take the time to get to know you, understand what matters to you and provide care that feels personal and reliable.

We are local, we genuinely care, and we turn up when we say we will.

If you or someone you love has a Support at Home package and would like a trusted local provider, we would be very happy to have a chat about how we can help.

At Murroona Gardens, our mission is simple: to make each day the best it can be for everyone in our care community. 💙

🌅 Men’s group Reminiscing About the Bowen Lighthouse Restoration

What a wonderful morning of memories, stories and local history at our Men’s Group with Stephen Darwen.
Stephen took us back in time, sharing stories and photos from the restoration of the iconic Bowen Lighthouse a project that brought together plenty of hard work, determination and community spirit. 🛠️🌊
Looking through the photographs, it was fantastic to see just how much has changed and to hear the stories behind the restoration. These are the moments that remind us how special our local history is and why preserving it for future generations matters.
A big thank you to Stephen for sharing his memories and to everyone who came along, listened, reminisced and enjoyed a great morning together.

🌟 Year 10 Pathways – Building Connections Through Community Involvement 🌟
Year 10 students have been enjoying a wonderful opportunity to get involved in the community and, most importantly, make new friendships with our residents. 💕
Through their Pathways experience, students are learning that community involvement is about more than just gaining skills it’s about connection, kindness, respect and sharing meaningful moments with others.
It has been beautiful to see Bowen State High School students chatting, laughing and spending time with our residents, creating genuine friendships and memories along the way. 😊
These experiences help our young people develop confidence, empathy, communication skills and a deeper appreciation for the wonderful people in our community.
A big thank you to our residents for welcoming the students with such warmth and making them feel part of our community! 💐
Together, we are building connections, creating friendships and making a difference. ❤️

🎉 Bingo is not just a game! 🎉

It’s laughter, friendship, connection, and a reason to come together. ❤️

Every number called brings excitement, but the real prize is the smiles, the conversations, the friendships made, and the memories shared along the way.

Bingo gives people a chance to feel included, have fun, and enjoy a little friendly competition. 🥰

So next time you hear “Eyes down!” remember — we’re not just playing Bingo… we’re creating connections and making memories! 💕🎱

🌿💙 Your Voice Matters at Murroona Gardens! 💙🌿
Our Residents Experience Survey is a wonderful opportunity for our residents to share their thoughts and experiences about the care and support they receive at Murroona Gardens.
We value every piece of feedback because it helps us understand what we’re doing well and where we can continue to improve. Most importantly, it gives our residents a voice and helps us ensure their care, comfort and wellbeing remain at the heart of everything we do. 🥰
Thank you to our residents and families for taking the time to share your experiences with us. Your feedback truly makes a difference! 💬❤️

🌱 Exciting times at Murroona Gardens! 🏡

We proudly celebrated the official sod-turning ceremony for our new Dementia-Specific Small House Model development, marking an important milestone for Murroona Gardens and aged care across the Bowen region.

Supported by a $14.76 million Australian Government capital grant, this development represents a significant investment in high-quality, contemporary aged care for our community. It will allow us to create two purpose-built small-house environments specifically designed to support people living with dementia.

The Small House Model reflects best-practice dementia care by creating smaller, familiar and homelike environments. The design supports meaningful daily routines, independence, choice, safety and connection, while reducing the institutional feel often associated with traditional residential care. Most importantly, it will enable residents to receive individualised care that protects their dignity, identity and quality of life.

We are delighted to continue our long-standing relationship with Paynters, whose specialist experience in aged care design and construction will be invaluable in bringing this important vision to life.

Our Chairman, David Nebauer, served as Master of Ceremonies and welcomed our special guests:

🌿 Andrew Willcox MP
🌿 Mayor Ry Collins
🌿 Councillor Michelle Wright

We sincerely thank our Board, staff, residents, families, community supporters and project partners who have contributed to reaching this significant milestone.

This development is about more than new buildings. It is an investment in the future of aged care in our region and in our commitment to making each day the best it can be for everyone in our care community.

💛 A generous gift in loving memory 💛

Maria Lloyd and Dianne Dickinson, on behalf of Phoenix Tai Chi Bowen, have kindly donated $1,000 to Murroona Gardens in memory of the late Adrianna Pini.

Maria and Dianne, together with Adrianna’s daughters, Joyce and Lorella, presented the cheque to General Manager Megan Murray and Board Member Christine Coventry.

We sincerely thank Phoenix Tai Chi Bowen for this generous donation. Adrianna will be fondly remembered for her kindness, community spirit and generosity, qualities that continue to make a difference through this thoughtful gift in her memory. 🧡
