New research is challenging how we interpret testosterone levels in women.

A 2026 study of 5,323 women found that total testosterone declines with age, highlighting the limitations of using broad reference intervals across adulthood.

This doesn’t establish an optimal testosterone level or mean that every woman with a lower result needs treatment.

But it does reinforce something I see regularly in clinical practice: pathology interpretation needs context.

Age. Symptoms. Life stage. Relationships between biomarkers.

This is the thinking behind Twigged™️.

Research: Wainwright et al., Journal of Endocrinological Investigation (2026).

18 hot flushes a day. High fasting insulin.

You might not think they’re connected. Twigged does.

Research has identified an association between insulin resistance and hot flushes in menopausal women.

It’s exactly the kind of connection I look for when analysing blood tests. Because hormones don’t operate in isolation, and neither should we interpret your pathology that way.

18 kilos lost. But that’s not the number I’m proudest of 👇

16.2kg of it was fat. She held onto her muscle. Her visceral fat (the risky fat around your organs) halved, and her leg strength went up.

She did all this with an autoimmune condition, her own business, and two kids under six. No crash diet. No perfection. Just small, consistent changes, done properly.

Weight loss is easy to sell. Losing fat while protecting muscle in your 40s and beyond takes a smarter approach.

If you think life’s too busy for results like this, it isn’t.

Sick of asking your GP for blood tests, only to be told you don’t need them?

I hear this ALL the time in clinic.

You’re exhausted, struggling with your weight, experiencing hormonal changes or simply not feeling like yourself.

But your blood tests are “normal”. Or you’re told additional testing isn’t necessary.

Here’s what many people don’t realise…

You can access private blood testing in Australia. 🩸

And that’s part of why I’ve been building Twigged™.

Because it’s not just about getting more tests. It’s about choosing the right markers, understanding how they connect, recognising patterns and looking at the bigger picture.

And ultimately, tracking your health over time.

Want to know which blood markers are worth investigating?

Comment BLOODS and I’ll send you my blood testing checklist with details on accessing private testing.

Your blood tells a bigger story. 🩸

12/10/2026

Too many people leave their GP with “normal” blood test results, yet still feel exhausted, unwell and no closer to understanding why.

It’s something I’ve seen time and time again in my clinic. People being told everything looks fine, even when their symptoms are telling a very different story.

I didn’t set out to build a tech company. I set out to solve a problem I kept seeing in clinical practice.

I’ve been a little quiet on here lately.

Not because I’ve had nothing to say. Quite the opposite.

I’ve been building something.

After years of analysing blood results, I’ve become increasingly frustrated with how much valuable information can be overlooked when we focus on individual markers rather than the bigger picture.

Because there’s a difference between having blood results that fall within a laboratory reference range and understanding what those results might mean when we look at them together.

Thyroid hormones. Insulin. Iron. Inflammation. Nutrient status. S*x hormones. Stress markers.

These markers don’t exist in isolation. They’re interconnected, and understanding the patterns between them, alongside symptoms and clinical history, can tell us so much more.

And I think we can do better.

So behind the scenes, I’ve been turning years of clinical experience, research and pattern recognition into something I’ve wanted to create for a very long time.

It’s called Twigged™.

A new approach to blood test analysis, designed to connect the dots, identify meaningful patterns and help people better understand what their blood results may be telling them.

Because I believe everyone deserves to feel heard, to understand their health and to have more meaningful conversations about their results.

And this is just the beginning.

Want to know which blood markers I recommend looking at to get a more complete picture of your health?

Comment BLOODS below and I’ll send you my blood testing checklist, along with details on how to access private blood testing through Twigged™.

Because your blood tells a bigger story. 🩸

Your blood tests can come back “normal” and you can still feel anything but.

Tired. Wired. Struggling with your weight. Not sleeping properly. Hormones all over the place. Feeling like something has changed — but being told your results look fine.

There’s often a lot more information sitting in your blood results than you’ve been shown.

I’m bringing it all together in a new live masterclass:

Twigged™ Blood Testing Analysis Masterclass: How to Feel Like Yourself Again

I’ll walk you through the blood markers I look at, the ranges I actually use, and how I look for patterns across your results rather than assessing each marker in isolation.

And I’ll show you what those patterns can tell us about areas like your hormones, thyroid, metabolism, inflammation and nutrient status.

Registration is opening soon.

8cm off her waist in just 1 week.

Fat loss? Or inflammation finally settling down?

It’s not 8cm of body fat gone — that doesn’t happen in seven days.

What can change quickly is bloating, fluid retention and gut irritation. When we start addressing the drivers behind those symptoms, the change around the waist can be dramatic — often before significant fat loss has even had time to happen.

And that’s still a very real result.

In Renew You Foundations, we’re not just chasing a number on the scale. We’re looking at what may be driving the symptoms in the first place — gut, hormones, stress, blood sugar and inflammation — then building the plan around you.

Because sometimes the first sign your body is responding isn’t the scales.

It’s your clothes fitting differently.

Ready to find out what’s going on underneath yours?

Comment BLOODS and I’ll send you the blood test list I use with my clients to help work out where to start.

If you remember the 80s this well, there’s a good chance your hormones are now doing things no one warned you about. 😵‍💫

You’re eating pretty well. You’re exercising. You’re doing all the things that used to work.

But suddenly your waistline has changed.
The weight won’t shift.
You’re exhausted by 2pm.
You’re bloated for no obvious reason.
Your sleep is unpredictable and your brain has apparently left the building.

And then you’re told your bloods are “normal.”

This is the part I want more women to understand:

Normal doesn’t always tell us why you don’t feel like yourself.

In my clinic, I look beyond hormones alone. I look at the bigger picture — thyroid function, insulin and glucose regulation, iron and nutrient status, inflammation, stress physiology and hormones — because these systems don’t operate in isolation.

Your body didn’t suddenly forget how to work because you turned 40.

You don’t need to try harder.

You need someone who knows what they’re looking for.

Comment BLOODS and I’ll send you the blood test list I ask my clients to request from their GP.

Let’s find out what’s actually going on. 🔬

9CM IN 2 WEEKS 👀

And Kate didn’t have a lot of weight to lose.

She’d simply noticed what so many women do in their 40s and 50s — more weight and bloating around her middle, tighter clothes, and what used to work suddenly… didn’t.

The dreaded “meno belly.”

We made targeted changes for her body — including actually eating MORE and reducing her histamine load.

Two weeks later? 9cm gone from her middle.

You don’t need 20kg to lose to need a different approach.

Maybe it’s 5kg. Maybe the scales haven’t changed much at all, but your waistline has. Maybe you’re eating well and exercising, but your body just isn’t responding the way it used to.

That’s exactly what we work on inside Renew You Foundations — looking beyond simply “eat less, move more” to understand what your body needs and why your results may have stalled.

My next intake is now open.

Ready to get started?

🩸 Need bloods? Comment BLOODS and I’ll send you my blood test list. Take it to your GP or I can arrange private testing from just $109.

The number one thing I find myself saying to my clients?

“You’re not eating enough.”

I rarely see women sitting on the couch eating KFC every night, wondering why they can’t lose weight.

The women who come to me are usually doing the opposite.

They’ve been trying for YEARS.

As the scales have crept up and their clothes have become tighter, they’ve responded by eating less.

Cut the carbs.
Skip breakfast.
Smaller lunch.
No snacks.
Be “good” all week.
Try another diet.

And by the time they get to me, some are eating drastically less than their body actually needs.

Others are eating beautifully — whole foods, plenty of protein, doing all the “right” things — but what they’re doing simply isn’t right for their body.

So one of the first things I often do?

I ask them to eat more.

More nourishment. More protein. More carbohydrates where appropriate. More consistency.

While we look at the bigger picture — blood sugar, thyroid function, hormones, nutrient status, inflammation, digestion, stress, sleep and what their blood results are actually telling us.

The goal isn’t to keep taking food away.

It’s to create an environment where the body is adequately fuelled, supported and able to respond.

And I see it time and time again: we increase food, the body feels better, energy improves, cravings settle and weight starts moving again.

If you’re thinking “I’m doing everything right… so why won’t my clothes fit anymore!?” that’s exactly the conversation I want to have with you.

Book a “Why Won’t My Clothes Fit Anymore?” Discovery Call with me.

We’ll talk about what you’ve been doing, what might be missing, and whether Renew You Foundations is the right fit to help you finally get things moving again.

And yes — even if you’re on a GLP-1 and not seeing the results you expected, there may be more going on than simply needing to eat less.

In fact, I might just tell you to eat more. 😉
