Lower back pain doesn’t always start in the lower back. 🌿

Very often, it’s the hips that have become stiff from long hours of sitting, driving, or simply moving less than our bodies were designed to. When hip movement becomes restricted, the lower back can end up taking on extra strain.

This simple circular movement helps restore mobility through the hips and pelvis, encouraging smoother movement through the whole lower body. ✨ Sometimes a little more freedom in the hips can mean a lot less tension in the back.

The key is to move gently and with control. There’s no need to force a large range of motion — start where you are and let your body gradually open up over time. 🌱

We often remind our patients that healing isn’t just about what happens during treatment. The small things you do at home each day can have a surprisingly big impact on how your body feels.

If lower back pain, leg discomfort, or sciatica has been slowing you down, we’d love to help. 💛

💌 We’d love to support your health journey, whether it’s your first visit or you’re coming back to rebalance.

A little something for the achy lower backs out there 🌿

If you sit a lot, drive a lot, or just feel like your lower back has been quietly asking for attention, this one’s for you.

High knees are a gentle way to wake up the hips and the deep core muscles that support your lower back. When those muscles switch off (which happens to most of us by mid-afternoon at a desk), the lower back ends up doing the work for them. Over time, that’s often where the ache comes from. 🪷

A few minutes of this most days can make a real difference. Slow and controlled is better than fast. Breathe the whole way through. If anything sharpens or pinches, stop and come see us.

This is one of the little home pieces we give patients alongside treatment. Acupuncture, tui na, and cupping do a lot of the heavy lifting in clinic, but the daily movement is what keeps things from creeping back in. 🍵

💌 We’d love to support your health journey, whether it’s your first visit or you’re coming back to rebalance.

There's an old Chinese saying we come back to a lot:
塞翁失马,焉知非福 🐎

The story goes: an old man's horse runs away. His neighbours come to console him, but he just shrugs. Who knows if it's bad luck? A few days later, the horse comes back, bringing a wild stallion with it. The neighbours come to congratulate him. He shrugs again. Who knows if it's good?
We think about this one a lot in the clinic ✨

The flare-up that finally made you stop and listen. The injury that slowed you down enough to rest. The symptom that turned out to be a doorway into something deeper. So much of healing isn't linear. Sometimes the thing that feels like a setback is quietly pointing you toward what your body has been asking for all along. 🌱

It's part of why we love this medicine. It looks at the whole picture, the long view, the things underneath. It trusts that the body is rarely random.

If something has been getting your attention lately, a familiar ache that's come back around or a new one you're still making sense of, we'd love to sit with you and listen to what it might be saying 🍵

🌟✨ Experiencing wrist pain, neck stiffness, or feeling a build-up of internal heat? Meet SI 4: Wangu! ✨🌟

Located on the outer side of your palm, SI 4 (Wangu, “Wrist Bone”) is the Yuan-Source point of the Small Intestine Meridian, a key point for regulating internal balance and clearing heat from the body. 🌿💖

📍 Why It Helps: SI 4 is especially useful for relieving wrist pain, finger stiffness, and tension in the head and neck. In TCM, it also helps clear Damp-Heat, making it supportive for conditions like eye discomfort, tinnitus, and even systemic imbalances affecting digestion and metabolism.

💉 Finding SI 4: Look at the outer side of your palm (pinky side). Find the slight depression just below the base of your little finger, where the skin tone changes, that’s SI 4.

🌈 How to Apply Pressure: Use your thumb to gently press and massage the point in small circular motions for 2–3 minutes. You should feel a mild, comfortable sensation as the area releases.

✨ When to Use: Turn to SI 4 when you’re experiencing wrist discomfort, tightness in the neck, or signs of internal heat like irritability or eye strain. It’s a powerful point for restoring flow and supporting your body’s natural balance. 💛

💌 We’d love to support your health journey, whether it’s your first visit or you’re coming back to rebalance.

🔥 LIMITED TIME ONLY, AVAILABLE MAY TO JULY 🔥

Dr Anna's Ginger Winter Moxa treatment is only offered during the winter season, when the body is considered most receptive to warming and restorative therapies in TCM 🌿❄️

During colder months, many people notice lower energy, poorer circulation, stiffness, digestive discomfort, or simply feeling more run down. Ginger Winter Moxa is designed to gently warm the body from within using ginger and therapeutic moxibustion over selected acupuncture points ✨

Many people find the treatment deeply relaxing, grounding, and comforting, like giving the body a chance to fully soften and recharge during winter. 💛

If your body has been craving warmth, rest, and support, we’d love to welcome you into the clinic.

💌 We’d love to support your health journey, whether it’s your first visit or you’re coming back to rebalance.

Tai Chi may look slow and simple, but there’s a lot happening beneath the surface. 🌿

Each style has its own rhythm, some more dynamic, some more subtle, but they all share the same goal: helping the body move with greater awareness, balance, and ease.

In TCM, practices like Tai Chi aren’t just about exercise. They’re about regulating your energy, calming the mind, and reconnecting with your body in a more intentional way. Over time, this can support better circulation, reduce tension, and improve overall wellbeing. ✨

If you’ve been feeling stiff, stressed, or low in energy, sometimes the answer isn’t to push harder, but to slow down and move differently.

💌 We’d love to support your health journey, whether it’s your first visit or you’re coming back to rebalance.
