In Food Play Therapy based on the "S.O.S." Evidence-based Approach, we make art with food!

Its a neuro-affirming approach that does not in any way force a child to try or eat a food, but builds gentle exposure and comfort with foods through gentle, non- pressuring, playful, creative interactions.

Through play, our brain and nervous system starts to associate the sensory aspects of these food with comfort and safety, and thus long term a child can become more open to tasting and eating them. But that is never the foremost goal. Keep it low pressure!

This particular child lives in Daylesford and was inspired to make a picture of the Melliodora permaculture farm. How fabulous is it!

We got to experiment with all the different smells of rice cracker flavours but also a basil pesto which made a cool grassy landscape!

Thinking about starting your own nature-based groups?

Webinar on July 7th

🌿 Dreaming of starting a Forest School or Wild Play Group in your area? 🍂

Whether you’re an educator, parent, or community changemaker, taking that first step toward creating an outdoor nature program can feel both inspired and a little daunting.

Join Artist as Family on Thursday 9th July 7 - 8.30pm AEST for an online session designed for anyone ready to cultivate these vital spaces. They'll dive into what it takes to establish, hold space for, and sustain a thriving wild play initiative.

Connect with like-minded people, share ideas, and gather the practical insights you need to turn your vision into reality.

✨Book your spot & pay what you feel - just comment "WILD" below and we'll send you the link.

There's so much more happening behind the scenes in our nature based social groups.

You know sometimes you just need to feel like you've got someone in your corner, egging you on, saying helpful things? Like a little angel on your shoulder, or a coach whispering in your ear?

Well - what if we made that a real life thing we can see and feel?

I love using sock puppets as a tangible symbol for our positive self talk or "Inner Coach". We can literally pop it on our hand and use it to talk to ourselves. And they are so fun to make!
