After much demand, another cake video 🍒🍫

Made this choc cherry cake for a very chocolate-loving birthday boy and it was an absolute hit. Featuring my favourite Woolies mud cake hack, chocolate buttercream, and the most expensive punnet of cherries I’ve ever purchased 😂

Dinner party bolognese pasta bake 🍝✨

This was last week’s dinner party meal in our first home, and it’s already earned a permanent spot in the rotation!

A cosy, hearty bake packed with beef mince + lentils for extra protein and fibre, simmered in a rich tomato sauce, then finished with melted cheese on top. So perfect for feeding a crowd!

Easy to throw together, feeds a crowd, and the leftovers the next day are somehow even better.

Weekly grocery haul: $90 for two adults this week shopping at 👩‍⚕️🛒
(Excluding Monday thanks to the public holiday!)

This week’s menu is built around simple, balanced meals that prioritise protein, fibre and plenty of vegetables - without blowing the budget!

Breakfast:
• Scrambled eggs on Soy & Linseed bread + fruit

Snack:
• Vita-Weat crackers with cheese + fruit

Lunch:
• Immunity-boosting chicken soup (recipe on my page)

Dinner 1 (will eat for 2 nights):
• Roast chicken with .lite potatoes, honey carrots and steamed broccoli

Dinner 2 (will eat for 2x nights):
• Beef taco potato bowls with avocado and fresh tomato salsa

A reminder that healthy eating doesn’t need to be complicated, expensive or involve a long list of specialty ingredient!

If beans usually leave you feeling bloated or uncomfortable, you’re definitely not alone!

For some people, it’s related to the type of fibre and carbohydrates beans contain, which can be fermented by gut bacteria and lead to gas, bloating or digestive discomfort.

A few simple things that may help:
• Rinse canned beans really well before using
• Start with smaller portions and gradually increase over time
• Cook them low and slow to softens the fibre structure, making the beans easier for your digestive system to break down.

You don’t always need to cut foods out completely — sometimes it’s the preparation method and portion size that make all the difference.

Happy World Gut Health Day 🤍

Spent the day at .studio x

One of my favourite takeaways from the gut health masterclass with was that gut health isn’t just about what you eat — your stress levels, hydration and nervous system play such a huge role too. Such a good reminder that supporting your gut isn’t about perfection, but consistently doing the basics well and giving your body and mind the nourishment it needs 🤍
