The Amazing RAce is back for a third season!

This month, team members from across RetireAustralia will come together to virtually walk the distance between our communities, from Caryle Gardens in Bundaberg, Queensland to Lincoln Grove in South Australia and back, as many times as possible.

While there may be a little friendly competition along the way, the Amazing RAce encourages movement, supports wellbeing and creates opportunities for connection across our teams.

We’re excited to see where this year’s journey takes us.

A friendly chat. A shared cup of tea. Someone noticing when you're not around. These small moments of connection can make a meaningful difference.

As we get older, life can bring significant change. The loss of loved ones, changes to health, reduced independence or moving away from a long-time home can all have an impact on wellbeing.

For Village Manager, Nicole, that's why R U OK? Day is such an important reminder.

"It’s about genuinely checking in with people and actually caring about the answer," she says.

While many older Australians thrive in retirement living, Nicole says it's important to recognise that adjusting to change can take time and that feeling connected remains just as important as ever.

"People know their neighbours, friendships develop and residents look out for one another," she says.

For her, supporting mental health starts with the everyday things. Encouraging social connection, providing opportunities to participate in activities, respecting residents' choices and regularly checking in can all make a meaningful difference.

"Sometimes people simply need someone to listen, to care, and to make them feel heard and understood," she says.

This R U OK? Day, take a moment to check in with friends, family and neighbours. A simple conversation and a listening ear can mean more than you know.

For Belrose Country Club Retirement Village resident, Bob Connors, Father’s Day is a reminder of what matters most.

"Family means everything to me," Bob says. And when he says it, you can tell he means it.

As a father of three and grandfather of three, Bob knows that being a dad doesn’t stop when your children grow up. If anything, he says, the love only grows stronger. These days, his family is spread across Australia, but that doesn’t stop him from keeping in touch and making the most of every visit.

Family has always held a special place in Bob's heart. He lost his father when he was just three years old and was largely raised by his aunt. Growing up without his dad gave him a deep appreciation for the importance of family and the role father figures can play in shaping a person's life.

Today, Bob considers being a father one of life's greatest privileges. For him, Father's Day is an opportunity to reflect on the family he's built, celebrate the people he loves and cherish the moments, big and small, that bring everyone together.

This Father’s Day, we’re celebrating Bob and all the fathers, grandfathers and father figures whose love is felt in the everyday moments, the phone calls, the check-ins, the words of encouragement and the quiet support that never goes unnoticed.

Project milestone achieved! 🎉

We’ve completed the fourth and final stage of our Carlyle Gardens Retirement Village at Bargara expansion, adding a total of 38 new independent living villas to this thriving community.🏡

Alongside the new homes, we also made several improvements to the village to enhance everyday life for residents.

✔️ revitalised community centre
✔️ improved the outdoor dining and pool areas
✔️ reinstated the much-loved community garden
✔️ installed a new entry statement on Woongarra Scenic Drive
✔️ improved the village roads

🏆 A huge thank you to our project team and construction partners for bringing this project to life.

We’re excited to share that the Wattle Residences at Arcadia Retirement Living are now complete and ready to welcome new residents.

Future residents will enjoy:
✔️ 52 light filled 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments, some with private courtyards.
✔️ spaces to stay healthy with a dedicated gym and consult room.
✔️ ground floor BBQ area for social gatherings.

Thank you to Hutchinson Builders, Marchese Partners and our RetireAustralia teams for their collaboration and commitment in reaching this milestone.

We’re now focused on completing the Grevillea Residences as Arcadia continues to grow.

The sound of laughter carried across dining rooms and bowling greens this month as residents came together to share the moments that make village life so special.

Friends gathered over slices of pizza, tested their knowledge at trivia nights and settled in for hearty winter feasts. On the bowling green, a little friendly rivalry brought residents from neighbouring villages together, with plenty of encouragement from the sidelines and even more stories shared afterwards.

There were birthdays celebrated with cake, smiles and good company, day trips filled with sweet treats and an Elvis performance that had toes tapping, hands clapping and more than a few voices singing along.
