🚨 Heads Up: National AusAlert Test at 2:00pm 🚨
Tomorrow (Monday 27th July) at 2:00pm (AEST), the Australian Government will conduct a test of the National Emergency Alert (AusAlert) system on most mobile phones across Australia.
For many people this will simply be a brief notification. However, for others, the sudden loud alert can be distressing.
This is especially important for:
• People who are autistic or otherwise neurodivergent
• People with sensory sensitivities
• People living with anxiety, PTSD or trauma
• Survivors of domestic and family violence
• Anyone with hidden safety phones or devices
⚠️ Please note: The alert is designed to override silent mode and Do Not Disturb. Turning off emergency alerts in your phone's settings may not prevent the test alert.
If you need to avoid receiving the alert, the most reliable option is to turn your phone completely off or place it in Airplane Mode before 2:00pm, then wait until the test has finished before turning it back on.
Please consider sharing this information with anyone who may benefit from a little extra warning today. A few minutes' notice can make a big difference.
💚 Take care of yourselves and each other.
