NSW Opposition Leader, Ms Kellie Sloane MP will speak at the Opening Plenary on Thursday 10 September, providing delegates with insights into the political landscape and the policy issues shaping health care delivery. Ms Sloane will be joined by over 70 industry, business and clinical expert speakers who will address the conference theme, ‘Connecting with Care’.

“For NSW pharmacists in particular the timing of the conference is key, as there are major changes to NSW health regulations of which many pharmacists may not be aware," said Mario Barone, Branch President of The Pharmacy Guild of Australia, NSW Branch.

"... high-quality professional development is about much more than meeting a regulatory obligation," said Kos Sclavos AM.

As a Queensland Branch Committee member and Pharmacy Connect Conference Convenor, Kos knows the importance of keeping your skills current and making the most of your time, which is why he is encouraging pharmacists to view CPD as more than a compliance requirement. Events like Pharmacy Connect have CPD accredited sessions and also provide opportunities to connect with new ideas and the wider industry.

"We want pharmacists to leave Pharmacy Connect with more than CPD credits. We want them to leave with new knowledge, practical strategies, valuable connections and greater confidence about where pharmacy is heading next."

The Guild is continuing to advocate for the general PBS co-payment to remain frozen at $25, and your support can make a real difference.

Real stories are one of the most powerful ways to demonstrate the value of affordable medicines and support our advocacy efforts.

If you have a patient story that demonstrates the difference affordable PBS medicines have made, particularly from patients willing to share their experience with a local MP or publicly, we encourage you to submit it. Submit patient stories via the Patient Testimony Form: https://loom.ly/CdTU95c
